I havent seen anything about this...what news stations are reporting this?

Yeah, it's just a big story so they are probably reporting on it. I doubt they believe Nola has a shot.

This is the fourth thread on this in the last week, so if of course the media is going to talk about it.

I just did a quick search and found 2 articles on nola.com and one by the Advocate. Didn't see any of the tv news stations reporting on it. I guess I could have missed it.

They are going to want to be somewhere with solid public transportation. These educated high income people aren't going to want to live in the suburbs and drive minivans to work

Not necessarily. Your employees in their 30s and 40s with families would probably prefer simpler living rather than deal with the hustle and bustle of the city. When weighing the pros and cons, a relatively short commute from say Mandeville is a small sacrifice to make so your kids can have a quality education and a safe community to grow up in.

Baton Rouge probably has a better shot.

I was watching fox8 and they were talking about. John Snell said New Orleans's major obstacle was the lack of a tech savvy employee base.

Looking at their list and combining all the factors, it looks like Atlanta or Raleigh would be the leading contenders. DC has a slightly higher tech rank, but also much higher office space and housing costs.

The people reporting this, or ones who actually believe it, are fricking high. There is next to no tech talent in the NOLA area, and it is a terrible fit for more reasons than that. I give it a 0.00001% chance of happening
