In actuality people outside the deep south only view is they hate black people unless there is a camera around.

ETA: This is what I've been told by black people who were from up north especially, on several occasions.

Well, that emulates the electoral college with urban vs rural, Democrat vs Republican.

That’s kinda always been setup that way. The vocalization is the conservative mindset that urban areas (ie dems) are not “patriotic” according to their perspective. I tend to disagree as one ingredient is the number of educated citizens in urban areas is significantly higher......granted that’s correlated with a higher population.

All in all, both extremes (left and right) present as largely uneducated/ignorant and or categorically stupid......or plan fricking crazy.

Honestly most people thought Trump would give Alaska to Russia before his time is up anyway.

You must be in Portland or at one of the Colleges. Outside up there quite a few Trumpers. I've been shocked how many on my visits up there

As a conservative, I would love to see that. She actually governed as a wealth redistribution socialist and all but killed drilling in Alaska.

FTR, socialism is ingrained in Alaska's constitution.

All that pristine tundra that the left is trying to protect would be drilled within a year...

This won't be a popular opinion, but I don't agree with drilling everywhere. Some of these natural places SHOULD be left ALONE.

And I'm conservative on a lot of things. But I'm also a conservationist, first and foremost. There needs to be a balance between economic growth and conservation of natural places. Some places should just be off limits to energy production.

ETA: why the hell did a 5 year old thread get bumped? Lol!

It is only a tiny bit of acreage that would be drilled in ANWR. Besides, Russia's drilling is financed by the World Bank and they have very strict guidelines. Something I didn't know until a meeting with CEO of a Russian technology company in 2014.
