I fly every week, and the prices I get with Delta are comparable with MSY.

It's also one of the easiest airports to fly into. Upgrades are very common even as a Gold or Diamond medallion.

Understaffed and they don't give a shite about anything. It was night and day dealing with airport staff at from other locations. Screw BTR.

It isn't that great of an airport.

You cant even leave your prized guitar in the bathroom for hours on end without someone stealing it

Hammond airport is my favorite. Hammond Air Center has free Abita beer and you can drive up and board a plane in under 30 seconds.

Baton Rouge airport nice? Everytime I flew there, I did not get that feel.

Have you ever been to Lexington, KY Airport?

Don't post when you have no clue what you are talking about.

I fly at least once a month for work if not more, 9 times out of 10 it's cheaper to fly out of BR via United

The same people that check bags in also are the gate agents

There's only 1 ground crew so if 2 flights come in at the same time, one is stuck waiting

I do like flying out of BTR, but share the same complaints in this thread

Always had good experiences there. One time I found a free Matin guitar in the airport bathroom.

Small airports are super easy. The only problem, and it's such a large problem that BTR is basically obsolete, is that there are so few direct flights.

Uh, no. Prices are usually within $50 of MSY so it's not even worth the hassle of driving there.

To the OP, I tend to agree with you although they have gotten better since the renovation.

The folks at the cafe tend to be rude and dismissive and it takes way too long to get your bags.

One thing you can always count on in BR is the birds flying around inside the terminal

I fly to Houston and Dallas a few times a month out of BR. It's always the same gate, I'm usually one of 2-3 people in line for security, the TSA office is friendlier than a bell ringer at Christmas, and the place is always clean. Not to mention the fact that you don't have to get there an hour before your flight which is awesome.

The flights costs are outrageous but that is more due to the airline than the airport. But it's not my money so I don't care.

You know the only time there is a delay at the BR Metro Airport?

It's when they have to move the cows off the runway.

HEY-OOOOOOOO!!!

Understaffing, no sense of urgency, and piss poor communication with the customer are just a few of the things that are wrong

Can't say I agree. The only time the airport is ever crowded is real early in the morning with people waiting for security to open (4:30-7:30am). Otherwise the airport is empty the rest of the day. Also if you fly enough, you start to recognize the staff and know who is helpful. The AA workers there have gone out of their way to help me a few times so it's appreciated

After Katrina BR had so many direct flights. Within a year or so they all went away.

You realize the employees are contract staff for the airlines? The airport commission doesn't hire them.

Common sense explains why this occurred.
