Yes, keyword is "asked".

Yes, without thinking about the consequences of said shirt.

Told by a private entity that she cannot wear the shirt on their time.

She wasn't told by the government that she couldn't wear the shirt.

Why do you have no understanding of "freedom"? What about the freedom of the 76ers organization?

She can wear that shirt wherever she wishes. Hell, she can actually wear it in the arena. The 76ers just don't want her wearing it while she represents them.

...they brought her there to sing the anthem, not use the 76ers platform for her own personal activism.

76ers already saw one controversy with an anthem singer for a Heat preseason game and they see whats happened with NFL ratings since the anthem protests started. Can't blame the business for wanting to avoid a potential controversy that could lead to consumers being turned off from their product.

That is so far from normal behavior at NBA games it's laughable. That's why that was news.

The fact that everyone on this board is able to remember how to breathe blows my mind.

Sixers fan is a urologist who works at Einstein

My employer who pays me to do a job has certain restrictions and requirements as to what I wear when I am doing it.

I may be free to wear what I want on my own time, but they sure can tell me what I can and cannot wear on their time.

I, of course, have the FREEDOM to quit

Consequences? So wearing a shirt that says "we matter" is now controversial. Ok got it.

So we value the premise of this being the land of the free but please refrain for exercising that right while you are on our time.

It's like you can't even fully grasp the issue here. Not surprising though.

The same country that decided not to allow laws that would prevent someone from expressing their beliefs. Has their national anthem performed by a company that takes issues with their contracted singer wearing a shirt that says "we matter". I mean this is pretty weak attempt to express Patriotism in my opinion but whatever.

Like I'm gonna spend time trying to enlighten a brick wall. Every discussion you have on here with people involves you being intellectually dishonest when various facts are presented. It's pathetic.
