I'm sure she's no Amy Winehouse (damned sure ripped her aesthetics off to the T, sans the tats).

None. Apparently NBA players realize that if they really want to get a message out there, they have plenty of opportunities that don't involve doing something the majority of sports fans view as disrespecting the country. They have reporters sticking microphones in their faces before/after every game/practice and have millions of people following them on social media. If a pro-athlete wants to get a message about injustice out there, its not that hard for them to do it without disrespecting the flag or national anthem

Lebron James on the National Anthem:
quote:
"Me standing for the national anthem is something I will do," James said at the Cavs' annual media day Monday. "That's who I am. That's what I believe in. But that doesn't mean I don't respect and don't believe in what Colin Kaepernick is doing. You have the right to voice your opinion, stand for your opinion, and he's doing it in the most peaceful way I've ever seen someone do something."

Good God, if sitting silently is disrespectful, I'd hate to see what y'all would have said if he burned a flag and said, "F*ck America"

Lemme stop you right there. It is disrespectful. Especially in the context where the custom is to rise out of respect.
You don't have to burn the flag to show disrespect. It's your right to do so, but at least have the integrity to call it what it is.

I'm so sick of this bullshite... This was one of ESPN.com's leadoff stories. It was ok when this was kind of a novelty but it's getting ridiculous. I'm no zealot and I don't boycott shite at the drop of a hat like so many do, but I'll get my sports coverage from FS1 until this horseshite blows over. I've had enough. I know... poli-board or whatever but I don't need anymore of this.
