The article specifically mentions he was on PSLF

This is the only mention of PSLF that I saw, it’s a description of their process, not an explanation of what particular plan this guy was on.
quote:

He continued making those payments until the pandemic student-loan payment pause, at which point he and his wife started making a plan of action to tackle the larger debt once the pause ended. That led them to discover the Education Department's one-time account adjustment initiative, which allowed the department to evaluate borrowers' accounts and update payment progress toward forgiveness on income-driven repayment plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness, including any payments made during a forbearance period.

There’s also this, which indicates he was a musician (or pretending to be one):
quote:

But he grew to realize that the only way he could make a significant dent in his student loans was by switching careers. Since he didn't want to do that because he loved working in music, he decided to keep his larger student loan in forbearance and begin paying off his smaller loan with a lower monthly payment.

No free lunch baw. If it's the government and this guy didnt pay it, you and me paid it.

Actually that rich bastard that died in Texas probably did. When the government stole his wealth from his kids.

Do they have a time machine? This law is like 16-17 years old.

This is a one-time balance adjustment that the Biden administration is doing because their broader loan forgiveness plan was shot down.

This is definitely new. It’s not part of any of the preexisting forgiveness programs.

I think I'm not gonna pay for taxes anymore.

If the govt can credit this jackoff $250k, they can credit me $250k.

After all, I've been paying taxes for 35 years. This jackass hasn't paid a cent in taxes probably.

For Lambdin, that letter meant his $249,255 outstanding student-loan balance was effectively wiped out.
Wiped out huh? Gee, where does 'wiped out' debt go? Do the morons who write these articles ever ask that? I'd love for this 'reporter' to ask Chad how he feels taking a sabbatical while his loan is transferred to other people.

No debt was wiped out of course.
The govt (taxpayers) essentially just flat out paid for his $250k waste of an education.

That’s code for join a guru cult. Which is probably the best thing he could do for society once it gets a Netflix special and we get to watch him cry about the guru touching his b-hole.

The article won't let you copy text, but if you read it, this a-hole actually stated he knew his only hope of paying back his debt was to change careers to something that paid more, but he wasn't willing to do that because he likes being a musician.

For that reason alone, he should be beaten within an inch of his life for making a bunch of hardworking taxpayers to fund his laziness.
