Man those farmers markets are ripoffs. I'd got to the one in Greenwood or Benton before downtown. I'd bet, especially this year it's been so wet half of the "locally grown" produce was grown in Mexico or Cali.

Heard on the radio on my way in that dive teams were plugging culverts to keep flood water from reaching some water or sewer plant. I guess it's the one on Teague.

This morning's projected crest is 36.5, which is a foot higher than yesterday's projection. Going to be interesting to see what happens.

My mom lives in the haven and said there's an evacuation of the entire neighborhood going on. She said her house is far enough back to avoid flooding but there's only one way in & out so everyone must go.

Damn, I was casually looking at 2 houses in there but I guess I will scratch those bitches off of the list.

IMO the houses inside of the neighborhood are safe, but that manadtory evacuation is a huge inconvenience for the 590 out of 600 houses that will not see water.

bullshite- I live in the Haven and I haven't heard anything about an evacuation. From what we've heard, 37.5 is the magic number in our neighborhood, and that's just the lowest house in the subdivision.

Dang, so that's 2' over the original 34.5. That's a big deal I think.

A few houses were putting sandbags out this morning, but the way the neighborhood is laid out, I'm on the higher side, so while the first house will get water around 37.7 feet, I think the magic number for my house is more like 38.5 or 39. The water backing up in the drainage is a little concerning, but right now, I think we're still good

I just hope we don't get a big rain while the river is this high.

It's really hard to believe that we're even talking about the Haven flooding. At normal water levels, those houses are WAY above the river and oxbow.

There was talk of a chance of a tropical system in the western gulf next week. That would be really bad timing. What would be bad is if Wright Patman somehow goes over its dam while the river is up as it is being held back right now to lessen flooding. Texoma went 6 feet over the dam so there wasn't anything they could do there.

It's behind the levee. I figured they built it up but people that don't live there don't know the specifics.

We're supposed to get rain next Thursday-Saturday. I doubt the river will drop anything significant by then.

Strike that, now it's supposed to rain Tuesday-Sunday.

The normal river level is somewhere around 22 feet, I think. The river is projected to crest over 14 ft higher than normal- that's 2 Shaq's

Its one thing if you have a trailer in a flood plain, its cheap land and you probably don't have means to live in a better spot. Those people I feel sorry for, regardless of trash level. But when you intentionally build a $300,000 house on the river side of the levee and all of a sudden you want people to feel sorry for you, kiss my arse. I hope your shite washes down the river, and when it does, go pick it up dumbass.

Those are the houses in the back of the neighborhood. They are safe, for now. The ones about to flood are the $1M+ houses.

This is really going to cause some problems. Caddo Lake is already high due to the water releases from Lake of the Pines in East Texas so Twelve mile bayou really doesn't have anywhere to go right now.
