Judged is one thing .. Sentenced is another .. He'll be judged on facts and sentenced based on his past, combined with the present ..

If Josh has as many people praying for him as they say they are, and IF they have connections...

he may never have to look back.

It's ok Rag, tell us where he touched you. Obviously this guy did something to you personally. Point on the doll where it happened.

Victim's age may not detemine the charge, but that doesn't mean the age doesn't matter.

A 19 year old on the back and there may not be a charge. And almost certainly wouldn't be a 15 page thread on it.

The age of the victim matters. Bottom line.

And no one with any power and standing is going to tie themselves to helping a guy responsible for a child's death.

Of course the age matters in the sense that's it's a tragedy. However in the eyes of the law or whether or not it can be blamed on the victims age, it doesn't.

Do you get that?

If there was something in his system as the charge implies, then it won't matter who he has on his side or if he was going 5 mph on a perfectly paved, straight road.

I'm no lawyer, but I'm guessing you're wrong on that.

If you have an unrestrained kid in your car, do they give you the ticket, or the kid? They expect more from the adult than the kid.

You can bet, IF it comes to sentencing, the penalty will be more harsh since it's a kid, as opposed if it has been an adult.

I've already explained that adults are SUPPOSED to possess more risk analysis skills.

But we've beat this horse...

What else to discuss tonight?

I'm not talking about the punishment.

Is the OT full of stupid tonight? Christ have mercy.

What's more amazing is how you think you know what happened based on a brief wafb link and googling someone's name. Maybe others are just waiting to hear more information before getting the cross and nails out.

Hey dingbat, it's the operator's fault for not knowing. Keep up.

I agree. But that sounds considerably different than what you were saying here:

quote:

I don't understand what the age of the person that was killed has to do with anything? Why are people saying shite like, "That's why I won't let my kids ride ATV's". The kid wasn't even driving. The kid could have easily been an adult.

In either case, this feels like it is about to turn into a stupid argument.

So, whatever.

Kids on 1000 pound machines that go 40 miles an hour and can flip over pretty easily is just a recipe for disaster. It's really sad. You see this stuff in the ER all the time. People don't understand the real risks that these things pose.

15 year old kids driving a 2000 pound missle car and texting is much worse.

Yes. But...

15 year olds aren't legally texting and driving.
