I am in! Was thinking about doing it myself the other day for June so now I have an incentive to do it.

I would do it, but I fear it would interfere with my chest workout, and the needed rest afterward.

Hey Pre, this might be news to you but for the average Joe message board user, running over 3 miles a day, everyday, for an entire month..is pretty damn difficult. For some it would be impossible. I'm in pretty darn good physical shape, but hell even if I miss ONE day, now I've gotta run 6 miles the next?
Running may be "way too easy" FOR YOU, but for the everyday person (which is who would be doing these challenges I presume, to better themselves) it would be way, way too difficult.
But thanks for letting us all know you run a lot!

If you did one pushup about every 4 minutes (24 hours straight for 30 days), you'd reach your goal per day and don't have to worry about doing 50-100 at a time. Pace yourself guys and this is totally doable with no real muscular effort

You can do it all sorts of ways. The easiest to me and the most doable would be doing 24 pushups on the hour starting a 9am and ending at 10pm. That's when most people are typically awak and alert. That would put you at 336 a day, which would be 10,080 by end of month. 24 pushups isnt as mentally taxing on the hr as doing 60 every 3 hrs and I would think you'd be more likely to stick to it.

That makes sense, but I'd feel like a tool if I was in the office and dropped down to do pushups every hour.

In all seriousness, I'm trying to decide what would be the most efficient strategy here. Assuming I would try to stick to 334 per day to stay on pace... I could probably bust out 80-100 or so to start but then I would be pretty spent. How long do you rest before starting up again? How many could you get on the 2nd set? I have no idea.
I'm thinking maybe do 11-12 each minute and then you're done in a half hour (is that even doable?). Or 5-6 per minute and done in one hour.

Worked with a guy that would do stuff like this. Your assumptions of feeling like a tool are correct .
24 push ups isn't much, but unless you are in shape (i.e. have been working out), doing that every hour is going to leave you sore as hell the next day. And without any time to recover, it's not going to be any easier the second day. You really have to "ramp up" the effort. You are not going to be able to do as many the first day as you will on day 30 (again, unless you are already at that fitness level). So if this is a new challenge for someone, someone needs to come up with a reasonable, progressive plan.

There needs to be a stickied thread to remind us each day.

I was lazy and stopped at like 4k last time, ugh. I will try it again I guess.

I'm game. We have a beach trip planned late June/early July. Gives me a month to get the old Dad Bod back in summer shape.

This challenge is way more of a mental thing than a physical thing. It's mentally exhausting to get down and do pushups on a schedule. If you would take my method, 24 pushups on the hr from 9am-10pm, that would be 420 total sets over the course of 1 month. That's 420 times where you say "frick, it's time to do pushups again". The reason I think this would be the ideal number is because you can say "well, it's only 24. I can knock that out".
