I agree with the OP. I mean the THIRD wife who's 20 years younger gets the team because of behavioral problems of Rita and his grandchildren? Something doesn't add up.
Sure New Orleans is a provincial town and Gayle comes from a New Orlean's family but someone from New Orleans who comes from good stock shouldn't get a free pass just because she's from a old-line New Orleans family.
Sure she can act the part of a genteel New Orleanian from a good family but that doesn't mean something fishy is happening.

Not really, I don't know either but no one has anything bad to say about her and in Rita's case no one wants anything to do with her. I doubt that's a coincidence.
