potential:
1. possible, as opposed to actual
2. capable of being or becoming
Will require better use fo sho. Payton has missed on utilizing some players. Reggie showed he could run every down (even tho the same injury proneness) after leaving here. Joique Bell, Tyrunn Walker among others that shoulda had more reps IMO.

quote:NO chance. Cooks goes down way too easy. Brown is electric with the ball in his hands..Always a threat to take it to the house. Cooks is more Edelman, Amendola, or Welker than he is Steve Smith Sr. Or Antonio Brown.
Give him another year for Antonio Brown status.

Tavon Austin?
Lmao. Cooks is on pace for 1k+ yards. Austin is a bust.

If McCown's pass in the end zone to Cooks had been about one foot longer you probably wouldn't be asking that question and some of the people on this thread would not be so wrapped up on his height. This guy is the real deal and believe me the other teams know it.

Of course they know it, he's obviously our best option by far since we decided receiving options weren't needed this season.

Cooks is also feasting in garbage time, seeing 151 of his 190 yards coming when the team is trailing and 123 yards in the fourth quarter alone.

Ummmm???? Let's just say he shows up in crunch time then.

IMHO he is lance moore, but a lance moore that was drafted in the 1st round so he gets more opportunities.

Cooks needs space to truly excel.
He is not a physical receiver.
He is a wiggle, juke, and blow by a defender receiver.
He needs someone big and physical (and unfortunately Colston can't anymore and Coleman plays a lot smaller than his size).
We need to have that receiver to complement Cooks.
He can do a lot of damage if the back seven have to account for other targets.

We're still waiting for that talent to surface in a regular season game, brah.
Sproles vs. Cooks

There is no doubt that the pass was slightly short. There will be other opportunities. These other teams are doubling up on him for a reason they are very aware of his ability. No he hasn't set the world on fire but the whole offense is sputtering right now. The team is only 3 games in , things can change quickly. Hopefully for the better.

Nobody outside of cooks is a threat and the ol is piss poor in run blocking so they never have to load the box...
We needed to address one this off-season, once again we did neither.

I wouldn't call Cooks a bust just yet. Is he ever going to be an all-pro NFL player? probably not. But he is fairly elusive with some big play potential and worth keeping as a 2nd receiver. Reality is that on a good team he would probably be a 3rd receiver at best. That we are counting on him to be our go to guy of the receiving corps speaks volumes about the lack of talent we have at the WR/TE position (along with pretty much every position on this team.

A lot of posters on this board are too busy pumping sunshine to admit reality. Cooks is small, not too small but he isn't exactly Calvin Johnson either. There needs to be a secondary option who can actually be depended on to catch the ball, and that's proven to not be Coleman. Colston is at the end of a great career in New Orleans. Bad drafting is to blame for being 0-3 right now, nothing else.

Seems pretty similar to what most posters said in this thread, but keep thinking you're the only one living in reality.
