You're expecting him to be a #1 WR?

Need a big time receiver, a true #1 option, then Cooks will be a decent receiver. Not going to ever be a star receiver in this league.

He broke his thumb last year. Ever caught a ball while a defender is hanging on your back in the middle of the field with a broken finger? Didn't think so.

Half of the season... you're about a frick.

What I'm getting out of this thread:

Fans are upset that one of our better offensive players (Cooks) isn't as good as the best players in the NFL (Megatron, Dez Bryant, etc.).

Yet they like the "potential" of Coleman who hasn't proven he can be a consistent NFL wide receiver.

I hate our fans! I hate this board! I hate society! frick All!!!

We might be expecting too much of him.

Big time WRs don't need "Counterparts". AJ Green, Dez Bryant, Megatron(in his prime), OBJ, Julio Jones(this season), Andre Johnson with the Texans, ETC ETC the list goes on and on. Stop making excuses for him. He is who we thought he was... a move the chains kinda guy ... not a game breaker.

Those guys have complimentary pieces that other defenses do have to at least have to account for whether that be another WR, a TE, or RB.

Andre Johnson had Owen Daniels and Arian Foster.

Dez has a future hall of fame TE in Jason Witten. Last season he had Demarco Murray.

Rueben Randle had over 100 yards and a TD last week for the Giants. The Saints have no one outside of Cooks that looks even capable of doing that. They have issues just getting the ball into their hands.

AJ Green has Sanu, Bernard, Hill, and Eiffert. Other offensive weapons besides just him.

the biggest thing hurting cooks right now is the playcalling. yes he is small but there are things you can do to counter that like quick screens/slants or pre snap motions to create space (see antonio brown and OBJ).

and of course if the final pass last week was 6 inches higher he would have finished with 8 catches 90ish yds and the posiblle winning td so...

He should be able to score at least 4 touchdowns a game.

He should be able to score more than a touchdown every 4 games though.

He is only a 2nd year wr. Give him another year for Antonio Brown status. We have flopped in the draft for years now, but Cooks is not one of those flops.

is a little dinged now but how he shakes out long term is still to be seen.

I think he still has Maclin/Desean Jackson type potential. But until fulfilled it's closer to Tavon Austin so far.

Muhsin Muhammed was a fair running mate for a couple seasons with Steve Smith.

Even though we currently use him the exact opposite of that?
