Lawson was an injury risk as well, otherwise he’s not lasting to the third.
Posted on 11/13/17 at 4:11 pm to Patrick O Rly
when we last saw Lawson he was healthy for a full season, all sec player
when we last saw Anzalone he was out for the year. Again.
This is stupid to argue about. So desperate to boom someone yet have no basis

You shat on the draft as utterly ridiculous and ridiculed our GM again when he likely had the draft of the year by any GM in the NFL.

That was not a boom. A lot people wanted Lawson. I wanted myself, but he did have injury concerns.

I never shat on this draft
I didn’t like the Anazalone pick and even if you would have read this thread you’d see I tried to justify that pick.

does your "loomising" crusade finally come to an end?

Isn't everyone giving Ireland the credit for evaluating the talent since he's come in? His specialty is evaluating college player
or is coincidence we dont have some of the worst drafts in the league since he came on?

Who hired Ireland?
im trying to understand the critics middle ground here. Loomis sucks at everything and if anything goes right he has nothing to do with it?
I mean, is that where you guys are at on this?
Also, critics bitch about the cap space. when have the Saints not been able to manipulate contracts and make moves in FA? we always have some solid signings and make room. we were under last year and in even better shape after this season.
who gets that credit?

Did anyone not give credit to Loomis hiring Ireland? Even though he was a Parcell's disciple with ties to SP, we can give Loomis that credit.
But we are talking about the draft.
Ireland was directly involved in 2 drafts that netted us Rankins, Mike Thomas, Bell, Ony, Lasco, Lattimore, Ram, Marcus Williams, Kamara, Anzalone, Hendrick, Muhammed. That is a ridiculous hit rate for early contributors.
There is pretty defined line in the sand between the last Loomis stamped draft and an Ireland stamped draft. There hasnt been a Stephone Anthony, Grayson, SJB, Charles Brown, John Jenkins in an Ireland draft.
You realize that Loomis has to manipulate contracts to cover up his mistakes The dead money we have taken on the past few years is directly responsible for our perpetual 7-9s. Loomis has struck out on some pricey Free agents, and hasnt developed enough home grown talent on rookie deals to make our cap easily manageable. So we, he gets a lot of blame. Payton deserves criticism, as well.
But we are talking about the draft.
quote:
"Getting Jeff was huge for us," Payton said.
"That was completely revamped," Payton said. "I think Jeff Ireland has done an outstanding job and how we look at players, all of that, was overhauled, if you will. And I think that the results are paying off, fortunately for us."

I was fine with the picks because I kept assuming we'd get an edge player. This has become a massive fail. 76 was the last straw

everyone should think Loomis is worthless. He's a figurehead at this point. He doesnt do shite. He's supposed to be a bean counter and we've been the worst cap team in the L for the last 5 years

32 is fine to me considering all these edge guys dropped to 76 to take. And you take a fricking injury prone LB who prob is there at 103
and you dont quote this one. Im like a prophet. Only an idiot would take Anzalone over Carl Lawson right now. Shocking an oft-injured player was out for the year after 2 fricking games

Posted on 11/13/17 at 6:21 pm to Chad504boy
who had never been hurt in college. Played in 50 career games. Anzalone played in like 30. You can live with a guy like that getting hurt. Anzalone getting hurt was almost a given
