Why do people think Dennis Allen isn't coming back?

Payton all but confirmed it in his press conference last week. Also, it's likely that they will continue to run a 4-3 since that is what Allen has always run and what they ran this year.

That being said, I think Andrew Billings belongs in the conversation at DT. I've not been overly impressed with Robinson or Nkemdiche either. Nkemdiche is the most disruptive and explosive, but his character issues pretty much rule him out. Austin Johnson out of Penn St. is another guy at DT that could shoot up draft boards. Right now he's probably an early/mid-second round pick.

Myles Jack and Austin Johnson would be tremendous upgrades to this defense as first and second round choices.

Knemdicknee just seems like he would be a bust due to lack of want/possible drug problem. He wasn't all that productive in college either.

Treadwell is pretty good, but since Drew Brees has been here, we have ranked among the top 5 in offense for 10 straight years. I think Cooks, Snead, and Coleman is a good up and coming group. I'm not against drafting a wideout in rd 3 or beyond (DeRunnyna Wilson or someone that may have dropped a round lower than expected), but in the first 2 rounds we need to address the defense/and offensive guard position-Someone like Vadal Alexander may be available in rd 2.

Blues put Buckner in there. Not sure how he fits in a 4-3, but he's a good player either way.

Nkemdiche had only 81 total tackles and 6 sacks.......over 3 years. I'd rather have Billings, Robinson or Shaq Lawson. Billings hasn't declared yet. But I'd love to have him.

My top 5 guys that have a chance at being there at 12, in order:

1) Ogbah
2) Buckner
3) Billings
4) A'Shawn
5) Myles Jack

Treadwell is the only offensive player I want at 12. I love him as a prospect, and have since his his freshman year. I would not mind this pick at all. However there are a ton of defensive prospects I really like this year.

It's obviously super early in the game, and we'll get a much clearer picture come mid-April.

Nkemdiche, Robinson and Reed are up there for me as defensive line prospects. I like Shaq the best among the EDGE guys, and I'm super fond of Darron Lee if we go the LB route. At this point, I'd honestly be ecstatic with any of those guys.

However with all that said, I still think If Jaylon Smith is on the board it'd be very hard to pass on him. (again we still have a lot to learn in the next 4 1/2 months, especially about his injury) But I would assume his time-table would be similar to Gurley's, where he'd be able to come back full strength a quarter of the way through the season. And when you look at big picture, what's 4-6 games in a rookie season for All-Pro potential play for the next decade. When healthy, he's easily a top-5 talent in this draft. Again, it's super early in the process, but he could turn out to be a steal in the long run.

His actual production to recruiting hype comparison was awful, and this is not even considering the spice/pcp jumping out of windows shite

Trade cleveland a 1st and Ingram for next years first. Draft Cam Robinson from bama in 2017 or Myles Garrett from A&M and draft BUGA with the other pick.

This isn't Madden, kid.

But if there was one franchise dumb enough to do this, it may be the Browns...

The Clemson DE Dobb looked pretty good last night. Im not sure if he is eligible yet though. I was watching A'Shawn last night because i had previously wanted him to be a our draft pick but he wasnt very impressive.

A. I got your kids right down here
B. Moving up 11 spots would only cost you 3000 points to match. Two 1st rounders at the 12 spot is 2400 needing only 600 more points to make up the difference which is the equivalent to the 31st pick in the 1st round. Mark is worth the 31st pick in the first round if not more. Any addition picks puts it over the top......and i'll beat your arse in madden too old man.

Please stop with the Todd Gurley comparisons. These two knee injuries are completely different. Gurley only tore his ACL. Smith tore his ACL & MCL. There also are reports about meniscus damage as well. Smith may not available to play at all next season.

I wasn't comparing him to Gurley specifically or directly. Was just using it as a frame of reference for the point I was making(which you failed to quote).

And that's also why I said "assume". There doesn't seem to be too much concrete analysis about Smith's injury so it's hard to put a time table on it or project him.

My whole point tho was he may miss 1/4, 1/2, or worst case even a whole season(which I doubt). But what's that in the grand scheme of things if you get All Pro play after that for nearly a decade. Especially with a bad, yet young and developing defense.

Also here's two links from a quick Google search that are much more optimistic about Smith. Backing multiple of my points. A) Might be worth the pick despite injury B) It's very unclear how he, and this, will all turn out because it's so early, hence the conflicting reports from whatever you read.

Sorry but the defense cannot afford to have player who is selected at #12 yet who cannot contribute from day one no matter how bright Smith's future maybe. Myles Jack would be a much better option & is a player who should be ready by the start of training camp.

Fixing this defense, with the way it's constructed, is not a one-off-season task. They definitely can afford to wait. I'm not saying it's ideal, but it wouldn't be the worst.
