re: Was Darren lied to?

First, if a team was penalized every time they lied to a player or agent, there would not be any draft picks left. Second, I highly doubt Loomis spoke directly ("to his face") to Sproles about the situation. More likely it was to his agent. How his agent expressed the Saints' position to Sproles could be totally different from what the Saints actually expressed. Regardless, why in the hell does it matter? If Sproles gets his feelings hurt because he was traded, he needs to find a new profession. If I recall, he got his panties in a wad with San Diego in how they handled his last year or two there.

How long before Stephen A. Smith compares trading players to trading slaves?

I love how these talking heads don't understand how business works. Until it's in writing and everything is signed words mean absolutely nothing.

If Sproles was white and say Danny Woodhead, would Stephen A Smith really give a fk? I think not...Half the things those guys say though, they themselves don't even believe. I don't know how PTI or Skip and Stephen A's shows still exist. It's well known that they make the two people pick sides even if they don't agree with it. John Feinstein, who's been on PTI, said that he and Korheiser had to actaully draw straws on certain issues because neither of them wanted to debate against what they really thought was right. Lol. I think that was after the news broke that he wouldn't be released.

His tweet is the one that broke the news of him being released...presumably from a conversation he ahd with the organization where he was told he would be released.

I understand his anger; he wanted to pick where he wanted to go. But I also understand he belonged to the Saints. My boss changes her mind all the time.

SAS is just a fool, and Darren is butthurt because the Saints chose Pierre Thomas over him.

I think "lied to" suggests the Saints tried to deceive him or other teams in some sort of way, which I don't think happened.

Sproles signed a little thing called a CONTRACT that basically says "we can do what we want with you when we want to, even if we lie to you and tell you something that you like to hear, but then don do that, WE CAN, because you signed this contract, now here is alot of money so that you and your wife will shut up when we do what we want to do with you"

Apparently sproles and his wife and this reporter have no idea what a contract is. And they are all butthurt now

If Smith needs a soap box to give his nonsensical speeches, use the Raider's debacle with Saffold.
