Well yeah part of it was to get better, but they must have known he was making it past #22 which is another reason for moving up.

but I still dont like the pick itself.

Is it because you decided yesterday that Payton and Loomis would never make that pick, and 8 hours later they did just that?

Let's see how it looks on the NFL field before we say who's wrong here

I really don't think the Saints are moving up or drafting Cooks. Payton has never drafted a WR under 6'0. Don't see that changing tonight

I think it's safe to say now that you were wrong.

Was it worth it?

Yes. We swapped places in the 1st and didn't lose our second rounder. YES now please. Relax.

According to the Draft Value Chart, it was a tremendous move for us.

like i said yesterday, depth of good doesn't mean you don't go after cream of the crop

Thank. you. It also doesn't mean that just because WR's in the third round are better than normal that they are what we need.

That's a given, but from the statements afterwards, he was the only player left on the board they were willing to trade up for still.

The reason I liked the pick so much is because he'll allows us to do so much more. We haven't done bubble screens in a while because we haven't really had the people to do it. He can really help out in the running game, especially if you motion him pre-snap, fake the handoff and zone run to the other side.

His presence is going to be felt throughout the offense. I'm stoked.

In a very deep WR draft, was it worth the price?

Very deep doesn't mean there were 9-10 receivers all rated the same. It was clear there was Watkins, Evans, OBJ, and Cooks...then everyone else. Lee was overrated a bit and Benjamin snuck into the back end due to his size. So us going after a playmaker we desperatley needed on an offense devoid of playmakers was a must.

Cooks will be the next Josh Reed

There have been bigger 1st round WR busts than Josh Reed FWIW
