The saints waited till exactly the right time to move on cooks, got the better value in the move, and landed one hell of a player that will beast in this offense. Uhhhh, yeah. It was like, kinda worth it.

You mean tear away from his hold? I think he's fast enough to pull that off.

I think it was I mean I was kinda pulling for Dennard, but I guess something is wrong with him to fall that far. Cooks is not just a WR, he's an excellent returner and he can possibly be in the backfield. And I feel now we don't have to go sign a veteran deep threat every year.

I thought that Sean's ego was too large to draft a wide receiver in the first round?

You can do things to avoid the jams. Stack the receivers, put him in motion etc.

We moved up 7 spots and gave up a third rounder, Cleveland moved up 4 spots a couple of picks behind us and gave up a better third rounder.

We got good value in the trade, grabbed the most explosive WR in the draft, and it covered a position of need. It's really not even a question.

Lol you don't have to be physical and big to get off of a jam. Did that help Colston's slow arse?

You can be fast and be a crisp route runner and burn physical corners

Yes, let's do that and remove the funnest time of the year. Predicting, evaluating, grading, and generally overreacting to the draft

I like having Cooks more than I dislike losing the third. Clearly the player they were targeting in the 20s. The Byrd signing already told us they are all in to win ASAP. They obviously feel Cooks is a big part of that.

I was perfectly happy with the pick, even after I said all week I'd hate trading up for a WR Giving up only a single third rounder for a player you covet and that was desperately needed is a win all day

Obviously, I was wrong. That's why I make a living outside of predicting draft selections!!!

I'm in favor of what the team did. ODB (or OBJ) went 12th. As many have said, there doesn't appear to be a big gap between him and Cooks. Just using lazy logic, we got either the #12A or #12B player in the draft...meaning we moved up 15 spots (again, lazy logic).

ETA: There's not a doubt in my mind that the Eagles had Cooks name already engraved on their draft pick card. We were lucky to find a trade partner where we did and at a price we could live with.

Yes. Cooks has speed and can be used possibly as a punt returner. He should be able to stretch the field.
I think giving up a third rounder was worth it.

It blows my mind that people still question Loomis and the coaching staff about personnel decisions.

Of course he is worth it. He is precisely what our offense lacked last season. He can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Nobody could do that last year. Also, have to have somebody who can blow the top off the defense. Cooks is that guy.
