Jack isn't a Will, Mike, or Sam position. It's a weakside end position (under Ryan at least). It had slightly more coverage responsibilities than a traditional weakside end but was effectively the same role.

The only pick last year I hated was Grayson. We knew OG was a serious concern last season too and there were some quality potential starters available in the 3rd.
Saints Brees window is closing so we need as many "ready now" players as possible and can't afford project guys.

I think they drafted good players, got really good value, and the price paid for the move-up of 15-20 spots was reasonable.
But I just think 2 of the picks were luxury players and not essentials.
In the end, considering the depth at DL in this draft, they should have traded back in the first round as far as possible and grabbed the extra picks. But easier said than done.

He's a solid scout but you are giving him WAAAAAAAY too much credit. A competent draft doesn't make you "the BB of scouting"

Payton said they had zero calls. Waited the entire time

We need real ends, lets not just slide some fat dudes over

Yeah Fairley and Rankins are just some fat dudes. Rankins is only 12 lbs heavier than Jordan. And Richardson is an end.
Edit:
Shame on me for forgetting Edebali. He is much more end than LB (though athletic enough to play both).

He's supposed to be a 245 pound outside linebacker. Teams will have a field day running to the opposite side of Jordan. The depth at DE is scary bad.
You must not know Kikaha lives in the offensive backfield! Pass or run play
