Cool. To say "she smacked the shite out of him" is so disingenuous.

I am fine with the saints wanting him at rb. Our society is built around second chances.

However, the tards in here trying to justify what he did is ridiculous

If our research says he's found Jesus then draft him.

If it says he's still the same bitch who punches women then pass.

Actually you may want to watch it again. It is obvious she initiated the physical part of the confrontation. Twice in fact. Obviously his retaliation to her assault was too much and he should be penalized. He could have and should have walked away but that doesn't excuse her part in it. I tell my students you have two options when someone wants to argue, argue back or let them argue with themselves. She not only chose to engage him but then compounded it by shoving then slapping him.

On to the topic i dont want to draft him. It has nothing to do with his assault. We have a great running back and i dont see the need to invest more resources in another one. We are not a running team and never will be. We don't run Ingram enough imo so why invest a valuable asset into an under utilized position. Now if we change our offense to a more run oriented one or he falls so low we can gain a better asset in trade then i am for it.

I see the fake punch now.

quote:

She didn't even strike him. She kind of pushed his face away.

Nope. My point still stands. She initiated contact when she got up and pushed him. Up to that point the confrontation wasnt physical. She elevated it to that level. He even refrained from physical retaliation after she pushed him by if-ing at her as a warning that he wasnt going to be pushed around. She called his bluff and got knocked the frick out. Women, especially nowadays, think they can go around slapping men in the face(an extremely disrespectful thing to do) and pushing them around. The law says otherwise.

quote:

A 210 lb prime athlete then punched the living frick out of her with all of his strength.

I agree that the response was out of proportion but so is shooting a guy in the face and ending his life when hes beating you up but the laws is on the shooters side almost everytime. You CAN NOT be the aggressor in any confrontation and you will never garner sympathy from a court when you initial physical contact with someone.

They say if it wasn't a woman, this would've blown over. Yet at the same time if he wasn't an athlete that people like, but just some random black guy, then the overwhelming majority of posters would be calling him a TPOS thug instead of declaring he did nothing wrong or deserves a second chance.

Come on. It wasn't justified. She may have been in the wrong too, but he followed them into the store after words had already been exchanged.

Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you. She initiated contact, twice. She has no case. Period.

Sure she shouldn't have touched him

You goddamn right!

but he shouldn't have followed her into the store

Its his right to travel where he wants for the most part. It would be hard to prove he entered the store with the specific and only intent to follow her considering it was a retail establishment.

and sure as shite shouldn't have decked her.

Again, he has legal standing to defend himself considering he didnt initiate physical contact.

quote:

And yes, having video proof of the incident will always make it worse publicly. It removes doubt of the situation

Video evidence is a double edged sword. It has to be complete, clear and include audio or it just becomes a tool for lawyers to paint whatever they want.

Right. Which is why I always approach these things impartially with no emotional stake in it. Others here live in a very informal, laissez faire world. Thats not the country we live in. We live in a country of laws. A Republic. For which it stands.

Right. You have to respond in kind, essentially.

In Oklahoma, the escalation in violence needs to be proportional to threat.

Yes. How is it not? If someone hits you in the face what are you supposed to do? He doesnt know what this woman is capable of. What if she pulls out her CCW and caps his arse out of feminazi anger? He quelled the threat.

actually no, the only time since payton has been here was with cooks, that was THE ONLY EXCEPTION I think payton even said after the draft that they didn't believe they were going to have ANY chance to get cooks when they talked to him before the draft

I agree, the saints have never ever talked to anyone before they drafted said player.. I can't believe that they'd sink millions of dollars into a person without at least talking to them first

Come on man, think about what you're saying

You cant know what the potential threat may be. She showed malice and the propensity for violent confrontation. She may be a 4 billion degree black belt in the ancient art of Whoopyoass, Krav Maga, Akido or be packin a heater.

ETA - don't have a dog in the fight, I'm pretty apathetic about most of the shite that happens off the field

And yet he was charged and made an Alford plea....

All for having no case, period.

And she's going to easily get paid in her civil lawsuit too.

Apparently not

This has already been settled in the court of law. He was guilty.
