Yeah I know pre-draft visits don't mean much but I would be floored with excitement if we were able to snag him with a mid round pick. Please make it happen Sean!

they NEVER draft who they talk to, they question them because they want to draft a team mate that that player plays with like someone who blocks for him or a defensive guy he practices against all the time.

they use visits as ways to get personal references on other guys they play with

If this means Westbrook, I'm cool with it all the same.

He'd upgrade the backfield for sure. Not sure where the PR hit (pun intended) is worth it. Maybe 4?

In 2015 the Saints met with Davis Tull, Tyeler Davison, Damian Swann, and Kaleb Eulls.

I can't find info on who we met in 2016, but I'm almost certain the the Saints met and fell in love with Cooks way back when at the combine. Knew he was the guy they wanted almost immediately.

So...it depends. The Saints have drafted guys they've spoken to before. In this situation, it could easily be due diligence. But it's smart as hell. Dude could easily wind up in our division.

actually no, the only time since payton has been here was with cooks, that was THE ONLY EXCEPTION

I think payton even said after the draft that they didn't believe they were going to have ANY chance to get cooks when they talked to him before the draft

payton believes who you talk to tips your hand to other teams and puts you at a disadvantage on draft day when you need to keep teams guessing about who you want. if they know you want player "x" and they want player "y" then they know they don't need to try to trade spots with you. it is a good philosophy and I totally agree with it and many other teams do as well.

Actually yes

Tull

"Yes, I talked with the Saints at the combine. They came to the school, and I had a visit down there. I felt like that went pretty well. It was one of my favorite visits, so I'm super excited to be a Saint."

The amount of complete BS you post is astounding. He not only looks it up, but he provides names and you still say he's wrong

He would be an amazing value at Rd 2 or 3

and let's not forget this little fact..

(She hit the shite out of him first that's why the sentence was reduced to community service hours)

Wrong.

Sentence was reduced because he was a star recruit coming in to play for mighty OU.

And for the record, the "bitch" slapped him, after he faked like he was about to deck her. And in response, he destroyed her face. I know of a few women that may deserve to get smoked like that, but I've never done it, nor will I ever.

As other posters said above, "frick him". There's players out there with better character who can still ball, and have far less potential to be the next Ray Rice.

Sometimes they mean something and sometimes they don't mean shite.

Regardless they aren't going to release the names of everyone they talked to and I doubt they would mention they talked to someone they actually want in the first couple of rounds.

They did say they talked to Sidney Jones but I feel like they might have released that info in hopes of someone like Carolina getting antsy and wanting to take him before the Saints can

There are a lot of people who can look at that tape with logic and clearly see she initiated contact. I am not going to argue that anymore.

At this point, he has dealt with the consequences of his actions. It was a dumb mistake that was dragged out much longer than it should have.

Ultimately, all this comes down to is how Bob Stoops handled the situation. He should have been kicked off the team and allowed to get his life in check before the video came out. But yet people like you have to have a knee jerk reaction just because you saw it with your own eyes on tape. Yet, you had all of the information beforehand of what happened.

I know this sounds like I'm an OU homer (I'm not), but what Tyreek Hill did to his pregnant GF is 10000x worse than the mistake Mixon made. And yet no one on here blinks an eye as Hill made play after play in the NFL his rookie season.

After they were catcalling her and called her gay friend a slur.

Let's not forget that he wasn't exactly remorseful during 2015. Only when it's time for the video to come out/draft time, did Mixon manage to find some remorse for his actions.

Oklahoma's Joe Mixon shows no shred of remorse for punching a woman - Dec. 29, 2015
quote:

Are you sorry about what happened?

Mixon: “I won’t answer that.”

quote:

Do you have any regrets at all about anything?

Mixon: "No." (Emphasis added)

quote:

What did you mean by your tweet in September, quickly deleted, that said this season is dedicated to your haters?

Mixon: “I know what I meant by it. Y’all just blew it out of proportion.”

This is staggering arrogance. Not to mention that it would appear that Mixon and his lawyer released the tape, even before the court order was appealed, to get it out into the public and hopefully be forgotten before the NFL draft.

quote:

The fact of the matter is he did NOTHING wrong.

There were conflicting reports about the various slurs exchanged between the two parties.

It was an ugly situation no doubt. But, I think it's foolish to not give an opportunity to a young man who made a mistake when he was an incoming freshman after another individual smacked the shite out of him.
