There are a lot of people who can look at that tape with logic and clearly see she initiated contact. I am not going to argue that anymore.

Not to mention that it would appear that Mixon and his lawyer released the tape, even before the court order was appealed, to get it out into the public and hopefully be forgotten before the NFL draft.

I just hate how hypocritical people are to domestic violence in the NFL. I'm sure you didn't give a shite when the video was kept under wraps.

Just like I know you don't give a shite that Tyreek Hill beat the frick out of his pregnant girlfriend and yet is now an all-pro type player. There was no video..

The double standards are blatant, so please save your "moral compass" talk.

I've posted the CBS article SEVERAL times previously when people bring up Mixon. It shows just how callous his attitude was toward his actions. It shows that probably the only thing he learned, was to fake remorse so no one bothers him about it.

How do you know my attitude toward Tyreek Hill? Guess what I didn't know who the hell Tyreek Hill was until the end of last season. Then I found out about his violence and was disgusted.

No matter how skilled or dangerous he is with the ball in his hands, I don't want him representing the Saints. PERIOD.

Don't presume to judge me on double standards.

This is exactly what you wrote:

The fact of the matter is he did NOTHING wrong.

This is disgusting and you should rightfully be ashamed. I can see why you deleted it from your post.

Don't push that he made a mistake when you clearly think he did nothing wrong. Don't tuck your tail now and change your post. Go ahead and argue that a 6'1" 209 lb RB deserved to hit the 5'6" 130 lb woman because she slapped him.

He'd upgrade the backfield for sure. Not sure where the PR hit (pun intended) is worth it. Maybe 4?

What would truly be the fall out after the "PR hit"? The dome would still be sold out on Sundays with downtown packed with fans and life will go on.

The PR hit isn't even close to worth it. We are talking protests, stories constantly showing the video, teammates being asked about it, former players being pissed, on and on.

Every time he has a good game: here comes the video. Forever.

Not worth it.

Hyperbolic and illogical. If there's anything people care about more than domestic violence, it's dogs. There were protesters and coverage in the streets about Mike Vick, initially. But the protesters and newsworthiness faded. It only stays relevant if Mixon does something stupid.

I'm not even saying draft him. I like Marlon Mack better. But Mixon can play. He would help. Ingram will probably not like it. But he wouldn't like the idea of us taking any back.

I am just curious to why "domestic violence" is being thrown around? Was this girl his partner or just some random person in a store?

Random person=simple assault, Not Domestic Abuse...there is a huge difference in penalties.

yes this wasn't domestic violence. it was just a guy punching a girl he didn't really know

if this was some random straight dude, esp a black one, nobody would give a single frick by now

do i defend his actions? no

do i think his life should be tainted b/c of this one big mistake? no

I dont get it. Chick hit him first. He defended himself. Was there more to it than that? Thats what I saw on the video.

Dont give me the, "shes a chick BS" either. Ronda Rousey would be highly insulted. As would the lawmakers who drafted RS 14:35 and similar legislation.

let's not get silly here

an elite, male athlete who is over 200 lbs does not need to "defend himself" from an unarmed female

That thug isn't worth the bad PR. Like others have said, he wasn't even remorseful until someone told him it would hurt him in the draft.

Defended himself. Lol.

He cocked his fist back and faked a punch, she pushed his face and then he cold cocked her.

Don't be ridiculous.

He shouldn't pay for this mistake the rest of his life, but I also wouldn't draft him.

i would certainly draft him if he somehow slipped to the 3rd

this isn't a lawrence philips where he had a history of this. it was one incident

he is a RB though, so i don't value him that highly. in the 3rd? oh yeah

If we brought Andre Royal in and had him hit Mixon with a sock full of nickels that might even things out.

To be fair, he has more than one incident. He tore up a parking citation and threw it in the parking officer's face. he was suspended for that. This was just last year, well after the assault incident.

I just don't like how he reacted after all of this. He didn't give a frick and showed no remorse whatsoever until his draft stock might be effected.

I don't care if guys are Boy Scouts. They don't need to be. This is just something I wouldn't want to deal with, especially at a position where guys are a dime a dozen.

they NEVER draft who they talk to, they question them because they want to draft a team mate that that player plays with like someone who blocks for him or a defensive guy he practices against all the time.

they use visits as ways to get personal references on other guys they play with

Absolutely 100% wrong!

In practice, no. I agree with you but that doesnt mean he doesnt have legal standing and thats the way it should be. You want a world where women can just go around bitch slapping everyone that talks shite to them and get away with it?

He had a legal standing until he punched her in the face

He also supposedly threw a parking ticket in the face of an attendant then inched his car at the person in a threatening way

I'd personally rather not have him on the Saints from a fan perspective. That goes for the other players listed with similar issues too.
