A season unfulfilled bc the Saints squandered 2 heartbreakers to the Falcons to preclude them from the playoffs and then the River City Relay next season

Hakim dropping the ball against the Rams is #3 for me after nfccg and sb in 09.

The 1987 game at Pittsburgh with the goal line stand where we clinched our first-ever winning season is one of my favorite
good to see I'm not the only one who remembers this

for me that stand was the official end of Mecom and the start of the new era

I was there. The air literally was sucked out of the stadium after the Colston catch.

The 2009 season was so perfect. Outside of the 3 game skid after the 13-0 start..

So many breaks the entire season and everyone for the most part stayed healthy. My favorite game from 09 is @ The Redskins.

When Meacham took the ball back after it was intercepted then returned it for a TD. That play to me was the entire spirit of the 2009 team. They never gave up no matter the circumstances.

Agreed on all of this.

I'd add in the Miami game in 09. Incredible comeback and the Brees goal line leap then dunking it to celebrate. Definitely started to sink in that that team was going to do something special.

Some of the earlier ones that always stayed with me were the 42-0 win over Denver as others mentioned. I met John Elway outside of the visitor's locker room and he declined to take a picture with me

I remember beating San Francisco 10-3 back in 1991 to get to 10-1. Beating the Niners was always something to cherish back then, but the way The Dome Patrol shut down that offense down was one of the most satisfying sports memories I had for a long time. That defense was legendary. All four made the Pro Bowl

Another big one for me was beating Atlanta in 2000. I was a huge fan of the move to draft Ricky Williams, thought he was going to be an all time great. After such a tough first year, he reeled off five straight 100 yard games including 150+ in the Georgia Dome to get us to 7-3 before getting hurt the next week.

I was so freaking excited that we had what I thought was going to be the best player in the NFL. Really wish things could have worked out for Ricky and the Saints. Still love that guy and that was a game that really made me optimistic about the team in a way I hadn't been for a long long time.

Similarly, beating Tampa Bay in 2006 on the Reggie punt return TD was amazing. Again I was a huge fan of drafting him, and seeing Bush get to the end zone for the first time after weeks of him seeming frustrated seemed like a huge release and just made me feel like things were finally going to work out for us.

We all know and talk about the Gleason block because of the setting and what it meant as the first game back but that Reggie punt return was just as loud if not louder. Very electric moment in The Dome that I rank right up there with the best of them.

1991 Saints defense is one of the greatest all-time defenses overshadowed by the GOAT 1991 Philadelphia Eagles defense but they were great from a holistic standpoint it wasn't simply the linebackers that was a unit as well and all performed their collective tasks tremendously

Both 2006 games with the Eagles, both 27-24 wins.

Regular Season: Saints win and go to 5-1 as Carney hits a 31 yard FG as time expires.

Divisional Playoff: Saints win back and forth affair as Deuce runs wild and ices the game with a 3rd and 1 conversion late. Everyone goes nuts.

NFC championship game vs the Vikings. Once we picked off Farve my dad looked like a kid on Christmas. My best friend who lives next door had walked over (I'm assuming to troll) because he likely left when the Vikings were driving, he shows up the play before the interception and I remember my dad who was 45 or so at the time jumping up and down and ran over to my friend, kissed him on the cheek and kept yelling "were going to the super bowl" over and over.
Edit: I know this is a playoff game, but it was really cool to see his excitement.

The first game back in the dome after Katrina. The playoff game against the Eagles. Loved it how we kept the ball for the last nine minutes using Deuce. The Dallas game where we had something like 40 first downs. We completely embarrassed the Cowboys.

2009 vs Dolphins, Patriots, and Redskins

2000 playoff game vs Rams..."Hakim drops the ball"

2008 vs Vikings on MNF when Reggie Bush returned 2 punts for TD's and damn near had a 3rd. Yes, I know we lost that game but still pretty memorable how loud the dome was.

OP said outside the '09 playoff games.

I'm gonna go with a regular season game from the Aaron Brooks era, just to go against the grain a little. Week 13, 2000 Season, at STL. We won 31-24 against the greatest show on turf in Aaron Brooks' first career start. Very exciting game.

Where'd I put '09 playoff games at on my list? The 3 games from 2009 I listed were all regular season games.

this game if my memory serves me correctly we made the golden boy Tom Brady submit

I loved watching him and Bellycheat pout on the sideline.

Isn't that the game where Devery was 40 yards past the closest defender on a touchdown pass?

One a lot of people don't know or were too young for:

WEEK 1 1978
Saints 31
Vikings 24

That was one of the first games I vividly remember. The Vikings were still a powerhouse but at the very end of their run. The Saints didn't have a prayer. It was Dick Nolan's first game. They got their asses kicked by the 0-26 Bucs at the end of the previous season.

The Saints never trailed in the game. It was unbelievable. The Vikings were driving to tie the game at 24 in the 4th quarter when Tom Myers picked off Fran Tarkenton and had a 98-yard pick-six. It was the first time I saw my dad screaming for happiness at a sports game. I was screaming with him. It was great.

Until that game, the Saints had won exactly one week 1 game in their history. It was also only the second time in Saints history that they were ever over .500. The only other time was their other week 1 win.
