I'm going with Drew is not an option haha.

Pierre Thomas, and it wasn't even close until Vaccaro came along.

Come on man, you're better than that.

The question is who is your favorite current Saint, not who is the best current Saint.

And even then the question would have been who is the best current Saint, not who is the best current Saint player.

So even if it was the best instead of our personal favorite, the answer would be Payton first, Brees second.

There's is nothing wrong with Brees not being someone's favorite.

Brees is more than even just a favorite player of all-time to me. He's a deity. A transcendent talent and an all-time great of the game that is probably the greatest player that will ever play for this franchise.

Very well said.

It will be a sad day when Brees decided to retire, but one thing is for sure; there will be a lot of people being more appreciative of just how special he was here. There are so many fans that have become spoiled. The Saints are one of the top teams in the NFL, it's been this way for a while now, and that's because of Brees and Payton. I've actually heard fans say that we need to get rid of the guy, etc. I got into it with two of these idiots who were working in a restaurant in New Orleans saying we need a new quarterback, etc. It blows my mind. One day, one day they will understand how fortunate they were to have this guy.

I hope I'm half the man Drew Brees is when I grow up.

Drew means so much to this city, state, and region beyond just his play on the football field too. The guy could run for mayor of New Orleans right now and get elected. And I would be totally fine and confident in his ability to do the job.

Maybe that's a stretch, but it's not a big one!

If anyone deserves that title it's Payton. That's my point. Payton is so underrated, even after the bounty season. And like I said Brees has clearly been our best player since he got here (though Jordan is making a push). I'm not knocking the guy at all. Everyone just attributes all our success to him alone.

I've talked to my friends about this.

I agree with you.
Sean Payton is the best thing that has ever happened to this franchise.
Brees is second.

Probably Vaccaro. I was a Texas fan growing up - dad's alma mater. I actually played Vaccaro, Alex Okafor (Cardinals DE), and one of their buddies in 3v3 basketball when I was in high school visiting UT. They were both sophomores, and we were playing on 9' goals. Kicked our asses.

Vaccaro talked more shite in those 15-20 minutes than I had experienced in my life up to that point
