IF this clears up and he comes here our line is disgusting, for this season and the future.

If La'el is cleared and the Saints do sign him, it will be like getting a 10th draft pick and a 3rd 1st rounder....

I trust otc a hell of a lot more than pft, but I was certain that you only became a rfa after the fourth year regardless of if you were draft or not. Why would draft picks be at a disadvantage contract wise?

I also thought they could sign two years years but wouldn't have sworn by it.

Regardless it's still at least 3 years at the minimum(if not 4) plus another cheap year (the first round tender isn't that expensive and I highly doubt someone will give up a first to sign him to a monster deal instead of just making the first round pick at a much cheaper cost).

La'el, his agent and family all probably want to come here, but are we even interested? I mean if we were wouldn't we have snagged him in the 7th instead of another RB?

Idk, I don't see it happening. Life would be too perfect for it to happen, because if he did, our O-Line would be filthy.

But CSP prides himself on not drafting the name brand players everyone mocks to us and finding diamonds in the rough.

If we our coach/f.o. willingly would pass on a first or at worst second round talent on an udfa salary at a position of current need who WANTED to play for us then you really need to question if he's worth having around anymore because his ego is either completely out of control, or he is insane.

I'd be willing to bet if anything there was plenty of dialog with his agent on La'el's wishes. Still it is pretty curious that nobody took a flier with a 7th to at least have his rights.

No, because then he would have chosen not to sign and waited Until the 2016 draft. If drafted you can do that. If you AREN'T, then you are stuck as an UDFA like he was. Teams took his threat seriously, making it a double whammy. Taking him became a risk because he could just not sign and then you blew a pick. That's not even including the risk involving the case.

The point is that in year 4, at even just 2nd round tender, WE pay him the $3mill+ for that year, and in total, his 4 year earnings then reach 4+, which he would have made taken late 2nd anyway....

Teams would never sign UDFAs if this was the case.

I get that, but I doubt our FO pulls the trigger. We will sign some no name from Southwestern Arkansas State instead of the projected first round guy.

I honestly hate the way we draft sometimes. Sometimes it's pure genius and other times it makes me want to drink bleach

We won the superbowl while he lived in state and was in late HS/college. I'm sure he at least bandwagoned.
