must have missed it. What did Brees say?

In summary, he can't handle losing anymore, and he isn't looking for a contract extension this offseason. Wants to see how the year plays out and evaluate from there

I think being close to mobile compared to anywheres else, is a huge thing for Fairley. Being able to stay here is incentive enough possibly.

I hear you but also keep in mind Mobile is where he got in trouble also.

its been a few years since he's been in trouble but a significant contract might steer him the wrong way. I know that's a stretch to suggest but you never can tell.

he could just easily fall back into YOLO mode or some bullshite like that

And here I thought those assholes at saintsreport said he was going to test FA and wasn't expected to resign.

Test FA means actually becoming a FA, which if that happens lowers the odds greatly we resign him.

This sounds more like an extension is being discussed, which would avoid the final two years voiding and accelerating.

Point I was making is those assholes at saintsreport every year act like they have some inside scoop and are NEVER right about shite.

Amazingly enough we've had a few posters here who were dead on about stuff.

He has played well for us and has stated he wants to be in New Orleans so I think it is fair all the way around.

Almost all potential FAs discuss extensions before free agency. Nothing thus far indicates he will not test free agency. If the Saints make him an offer he feels is fair, I can see him signing. Otherwise, he will test free agency. The only thing I saw on SR.com was a link to an article from profootball rumors saying he would test the market. Not sure how you translated that into someone over there claiming to have inside info.

Fairley, Rankins, and Jordan are 3/4 of a great 4-3 line. Just need a rush end like Pierre Paul or Ingram and we can start getting pressure with just four. Would be great.

I wish there was an Urlacher, Willis, or Kuechly type linebacker in this draft.

Would test that market, not might. Which means he wouldn't do an extension yet here he is discussing it.

And my bad for thinking they were claiming insider info. That's usually the case with rumors from over there (which means the post here improperly attributed the news to saintsreport). Still doesn't change that it was made up bullshite.

Cam, Fairley and Rankins is a nice trio. Bring Fairley back, sign or draft another pass rusher.

It won't be the best D-line ever, but it would absolutely be the best d-line the Saints have had in quite a while if they bring in a stud rookie pass rusher at DE opposite Jordan.
