Should we avoid players just because they went to LSU. I swear some of you think so.
Exactly!
Some posters on here forget this site was started by Chicken as a "LSU" forum and that's still the bread and butter support this site has.
All this BS about LSU players and guess how many are on the roster?
ZERO
I guess LSU doesn't produce NFL caliber players!!
If you want to lobby against getting players from certain universities, start with Georgia and Alabama...we've been screwed almost every time we drafted a player from there.

Ain't that the truth!

Pierre Desir, out of Lindenwood - 6'1" 195 lbs Stanley Jean-Baptiste, out of Nebraska - 6'3" 215 lbs Walt Aikens, out of Liberty - 6'1" 205 (He could very well end up being an UDFA) All three or 3-5 rounders with great up side. All are long, athletic, and like contact. Which is exactly what Seattle does to WR's. I can imagine all would thrive in press man scheme's like Rob Ryan's where they an use there length to gain leverage rather than playing in space.
If the Saints aren't able to at least get Jean-Baptiste or Desir then I wouldn't be mad about getting Claiborne for a 5th round pick or later. Maybe a 4th if Ryan believes that much in him.

Jenkins is playing pretty well
Ingram is the only player I can think of that hasn't lived up to expectations from bama

I'm sure he's thinking of J. Sullivan and just painting that school with a board brush.

Andre Royal was a piece of crap but he wasn't a high draft choice either.
I don't know what the hell that guy is talking about though.

Why no love for Kyle Williams?

Since we are talking LSU players... Hill ( best back in the class, and much cheaper than PT) is a steal and Landry is a better Lance!

And Charles Grant

How do you know he is a steal? I think he will be great as well, but we don't know where he will drafted. He is not a steal in the first 2 rounds. If he is available in the 5th then I might agree with you.
I'm sure there won't be anyone on thus board that would argue Lance Moore over Jarvis Landry.

I wouldn't be so sure. We have some winners on this board.

I say take him he cant be worst than Harper with the defense that Ryan is running. He is the Darren Sharper the team needs.

Your homerism is at an all time high on that one right there. Not even sure what you said after that bc of how unintelligent that statement was.

Clearly you have a a grade against LSU, because that is a legitimate opinion.
Size, speed, averaged over 6 yards a carry against SEC teams.

Hard to believe that this shitty thread started by someone with under 100 posts with a (semi) misleading thread title is still going strong...with zero to substantiate it.
(Yes, I know I'm contributing to the longevity of said shitty thread, but, hey, life is full of ironies.)

Les Kelly (LB) Alabama 1st round 1967
Royce Smith (G) Georgia 1st round (8th pick) 1972
Lindsay Scott (WR) Georgia 1st round (13th pick)1982
Charles Grant (DT) Georgia 1st round (25th pick) 2002
Jonathan Sullivan (DT) Georgia 1st round (6th pick)2003
Mark Ingram (RB) Alabama 1st round (28th pick) 2011
To further amplify my point, 12% of the 1st round picks in the franchise history have been used on players from Georgia or Alabama and do you see any names that will go down as "one of the best"...didn't think so.
BTW... the Saints have never drafted a LSU player in the first round. The players they did draft were:
Hookie Gajan (RB) 10th round 1981
Eric Martin (WR) 7th round 1985
Dalton Hillard (RB) 2nd round 1986
Devery Henderson (WR) 2nd round 2004
See any names you might recognize as "one of the best"?
There have been a total of 7 players drafted out of LSU (the other 3 were drafted in the 5th round or lower).

Well that's wrong because we drafted al woods in the fourth a few years ago
Charles grant was pretty good for a few years. Stinchcomb wasn't shabby either
And Jenkins looks to have been a steal for us last year.

No "a a grade"? against lsu over here. I would love to get OBJ and Landry. To say Hill is the best back in this draft is very homerism. He has size and good speed. He isn't the fastest, he doesn't have the best vision, he certainly doesn't have the best balance. To rank him above Hyde, Mason, or Carey is just putting him above them bc he went to LSU.
