The deal is still on. Should go pretty quickly, the terms are largely worked out already. As far as I know the deal is still the 32nd for Butler.

See, it's hard to swallow looking at it this way. But if we had just traded Butler for Cooks and the 4th->3rd in the first place, it wouldn't look bad at all. Now that we've been sitting here with 32 for so long, it really feels like it's valuable.

In reality, Butler is a far more valuable chess piece for us than Cooks. So a near 1:1 swap is a damn good value for us.

Still hoping it is for less, but if that what was agreed upon, let's get it done.

I'd leverage the fact that I'm about to have to pay him 10-12 mil/year still. You're not getting my 1st and 2nd and having to do that. Here's my earlier 3rd and be happy you get to pay Cooks pennies for two years.

But this is our front office, so who am I kidding.

Regardless of what happens to Butler, I hope the Pats sign Jason McCourty for depth. Still would rather stick with Butler, but if we can get 32 back I'm down for it

Preach dude.

I just have a terrible feeling he's not going to be nearly the same outside of NE. One or two thirds, sure go for it. First...hell no. Not to mentioned we are gonna pay him crazy money.

I'm sure I'm not the only 1 who thinks this has all been set up since the Cooks trade (as part of said trade) and we've just been waiting for Butler to do his part

ETA: pick 32 was never going to NOLA... it was just filler to consummate the Cooks trade until the Butler trade could be finalized.

Disappointed if it's for #32, but okay with it.

Happy if it's for #42.

If it's for anything lower than #42 I'll fap til my dick falls off.

I feel like its either 2 3's (trade now, secure 2 3rd round picks instead of gambling for compensation in the 2019 draft) or 42.
