Bring that shite to the Pats board.

I'm not really worried about the production. Were so shitty at CB outside of a healthy Breaux and glimpses of PJ Williams that I'm not turning anyone, especially, of his caliber away.

I think the deal has been done since Cooks. It's always been 32.

I think if we get him it will be for the 32nd pick.
No way no how for 11th. That would be a huge mistake.

We would have just signed him a month ago if we were going to give up 11.

I'll take him and a 2018 conditional for 42 and 2018 3rd, please.

At least this will stop all the chicken littles who honestly thought the Saints would give up 11 for him.

But all the Patriots fans on Reddit are telling me that the Patriots won't take anything less than 11 + picks for him :(

If anyone is upset with trading #42 for Malcolm Butler, you need your head examined. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.

Just like all the Saints fans that were saying they'd take nothing less than a couple of first round picks for Cooks?!?!

I member when the Titans were going to give 5 and 18 for Cooks and 11. You member?

If we give the 32nd pick back to NE for Butler, we better get some more mid round picks. NE currently has:

Third round - 72nd and 96th
Fourth round - 131st
Fifth round - 163rd and 183rd
Sixth round - 200th
Seventh round - 239th

LINK

Saints: get Butler, and 72nd
Patriots: get 32nd and Cooks for cheap for 2 years.

That would leave us with:

LINK

1:11
2:10 (42nd)
3:8 (72nd)
3:12 (76th)
3:39 (103rd)
6:12 (196th)
7:11 (229th)

But these are the Patriots we're dealing with which is terrifying, this could get interesting. Hopefully we don't get screwed.

The 72nd pick doesn't exist.

Question: if traded to saints and we have a long term deal for butler, is that an extension off of signed 1 yr tender deal?

No. He would get a whole new contract. RFA tender is only for Patriots.

That's not true. He's tradable now because he's under contract.

It would be a restructure/extension. So while it's a technically a whole new contract (replacing the tender once extended), the tender is still a point of leverage for the saints in the final price
