He'll be a Saint today. When I get some real numbers I'll share. Not going to be cheap from what I heard last, and based on the Armstead contract restructuring, I am guessing he got more up front in guaranteed money (which was his sticking point from some of the reports earlier in the week).

What about compensation to the Pats?
Hopefully we don't get raped

After this season, Butler will have won 3 out of the past 4 Super Bowls

Slow day over at Canal Street Chronicles yesterday. That's all this was and is.
If one wanted to read into it, however; it could be read two different ways. Both of which I'm sure have been stated previously in this thread somewhere. To me, the "quotes" don't bode well for him coming to NOLA, but I also hadn't heard he removed "Patriots CB" from his bio either. Who knows. Hopefully something happens soon.

So you think he's staying with the Pats?

I honestly think those quotes are just a part of a song.
The more interesting part is that he took off Pats CB and is flying somewhere

Some people talking about the black shirt and gold chain and on a plane, saying he's coming to the Saints.
He has like 4 posts with a black shirt and gold chain. All but this one is b4 many pat pics. The chain and shirt mean nothing. He just likes the look

Go back to lurking. bounty hunter is a great poster that has given legit info in the past. Posts like this discourage actual people with actual inside info from posting.
These situations are fluid. Keep it coming BH.

On second thought, I actually agree with you Bunch. I appreciate you calling me out on that. Apologies to BH, will edit my post.

Yeah the 32 is still the handshake deal. I do know the NFL is watching this closely because when teams start colluding on deals like this it circumvents the whole RFA process, which by its nature protects players and allows teams to receive something when a player is good enough to warrant a pick AND a big contract. I think there is concern there for how the NFLPA views this after the deal is finalized.
Based on what the NFL does with this they may have to modify the deal. My concern is that the handshake deal is going to be squashed and they have to let the 1st round designation take affect. Again this is the worst case scenario because if we have to give our 11th we definitely lost on the deal. My guess is right now Butler signed the tender and has agreed to be traded, not sure how they are navigating these murky waters.

If it ends up being for 11 we will all melt, rightfully so. And The those asshat Patriot fans on Reddit will all say "TOLD YOU SO!!" And then Everyone will laugh at the Saints. That wouldn't just be worst case scenario, it would be catastrophic.

Not disagreeing with you. I think the 32 is fair compensation when you consider the situation with Cooks. 11th is direct compensation for having a shitty year. I don't think anyone will be pleased if we trade and entire year of shite for one player. Especially with our track record in FA.
