I don't give a flying frick that you don't give a flying frick.

I have my opinion(stupid call by Payton) and you have yours(kickers should hit everything, even into 12 mph wind at 45+ yards).

And no anger towards you. Just a playful jab.

Sometimes in my typing I forget it doesn't come out how it sounds in my head(boy did my cousin's gf get pissed at me because of that).

I'm still pissed at Payton over that shite, just like you're still pissed at Graham(and I guess that could be either or both ).

We need to reduce the number of times you do this.

Part of it is me typing to quickly and hitting submit before proofing.

The other part is I hate to double post unless I'm in frick it mode like when quoting from 3 or 4 different posts.

I figure I have to have at least a 95% edited post rate.

Edit:
Or when I forget to put something in or think of something to add in after.

Bone, I hope Ingram keeps improving. I love the Saints, and hope players succeed to help the team even if the went to a rival of my alma mater. I think the idiots clamoring 3 picks back then were dumbasses. It was always two picks and was still a waste.

As to the guy claiming it didn't hurt our 2012 draft, wtf are you thinking? We lost the first and the second on top of spending another high pick on Ingram that could've been used better seeing as the Saints best backs have generally been undrafted as of late.

Had we not made the trade we likely still lose the first but keep our 2nd rounder which could've helped the team a ton. Instead people use the excuse we were going to lose it anyway. Even if we lose the first in 2013, that means we spent two second round picks for 3 years at less than 500 yards rushing a year.

Back on topic, I could care less about all this Ingram stuff. I hope he does well here and if we resign him after that then great.

But if he does leave I'll be glad one of the most drugged out arguments here will be over.

you know, I have to admit.

I was happy when the Saints first picked him.

but there were a lot of people on here who didn't like the pick and I argued for him.

so this is me eating my crow.

for whatever reason, there is something that is just off with him. He starts the season off all tentative like.

sure he may have been injured some in his career but that doesn't erase my frustration with him. I empathize with his situation though because he's had times where he was fighting some nagging injury and I guess that never really "helps"

but honestly, I'm tired of being an Ingram apologist.

another lackluster year... and I hope the Saints show him the door.

Again, I didn't say Ingram sucked. I said he's been overall mediocre to above average. Further more, are you going to tell me in the regular season that getting 40% of his yards from 11 games in 1 game isn't a fluke? Really? Some of you are insane and don't understand what a fluke is.

I took away his fluke game and he still produced at a decent # for a RB in our system. Key word, OUR system, which sucked arse all year with running.

quote:

He played better at running than PT down the stretch. PT has clearly slowed down and no one has denied that. He's struggled from being worn down. Ingram wasn't. He got significant rest (5 games worth to be exact).

Really, THAT worn down? 2ypc vs. 6.4ypc
That's pretty big of a gap even if it was fresh legs.

quote:

Here is the problem with you guys. It isn't just his running ability. He killed drives when they tried to pass him the ball with drops. He's near useless in the passing game because he's a horrible blocker from what he's shown there. To be a running back, you either better be a miraculous running threat or be good at multiple aspects. Unless you have a ridiculous run blocking line to counteract that, you are pretty much predictable.

One drop the whole year against Dallas, the fans booed him and he blew up after that. 7 reception on 11 targets the whole year (24/34 his career) so much for "dropping passes"

Horrible Blocker? We never keep him in passing downs for him to even BLOCK. its like 1 out of every 5 plays.

Oh blame it on him that he's predictable, not the coach that runs him 80% of the snaps he plays.

quote:

PT offers those things. Robinson even did as did Sproles. Ingram, not so much. But go ahead and continually blame the Saints' coaches and their playcalling for Ingram's struggles. I'd hope a 1st round running back would be able to break tackles consistently, and Ingram can't, but I forgot, 4 good games = greatness.

I will continue to blame them, Why? Because teams KNOW when he's in, it's a run. They're coming after him and ONLY him. 4/5 of the times, they're right, it's a lopsided gamble that will reward them 80% of the time. Lets not cloud our judgement at all and give 0 blame on the coaching staff.

4 good games, 3 good defenses shows me he can do what we need for him to do. Let's not be a LSU homer or an Ingram hater.

quote:

Also, let's look at Khiry Robinson, an undrafted free agent running back in his ROOKIE year.

In the post season, he had 4.9 ypc and a TD.
In the post season, Ingram had 5.2 ypc and a TD, but got more carries.

A 1st and 2nd round pick in his 3rd year is getting you the same value as an UFA rookie. That is sad on so many levels.

Oh my...you know what other UDFA has played better than a ton of drafted/1st round RBs? That guy over in Houston...Arian Foster? What about that 6th round guy Alfred Morris? He's averaged 4.7ypc and he's playing better than a good bit of 1st rounders. Oh wait, that other UDFA guy...what's his face...Fred Jackson who is just as good if not better than CJ spiller? What's that say, being a UDFA doesn't fricking matter. our 7th round WR is better than our 1st round WR the following year. Where are you complaining about Meachem and how shitty he is?

FAR less than that(14 snaps, or 8% is the actual amount). So we really haven't seen what he can do blocking. Hell he had more run blocking snaps with 19.

Sproles also only had 14 pass blocking snaps.

Now I don't know if that says they don't trust him or they just trust PT far far more as he had 73 snaps(70% of all the HBs pass blocking snaps).

On PFF both Sproles(-0.5) and Ingram(-0.6) had slightly negative pass blocking grades. Robinson(+0.2) only had 3 snaps so his grade isn't a complete picture with too small a sample. PT had a +0.1 grade(which my eyes say is too low).

quote:

This was true prior to this year and in the early part of this season, but that changed dramatically as the year went on. He actually had 79 running plays(46%) and 61 passing plays(35%). That, along with the line getting healthier/better, helped him become more effective.
