I really like the Spence pick. I know he is a character issue but so was Tyrann and he's an All-pro. And I know people will say Lawrence Phillips was too. Ultimate risk/reward pick.

I don't trust Lawson and thought that he was outshined by Dodd in NS altho I get he was injured. Reminds me a little of Charles Grant who was "good" not "great".

My picks are Spence or Treadwell at 12th.

I honestly think if you want Spence, you can get him in round 2

He's projected top 10 right now in some mocks. He's not falling that far, Nkemdiche is more likely to fall there.

I don't trust Lawson because of this apparently swept-under-the-rug shoulder issue.

I don't think Spence is worth our pick, though. I see him going in the 20-35 range, a la Shane Ray. And i don't see the team drafting him after their character crusade last year.

At the same time, not a big fan of any of the other DL prospects where we pick really. I like Bosa and Buckner but neither will be there for our pick. Rankins has tons of potential but will need some coaching to adjust to the NFL because of his size, and we all know our assistant coaches are garbage. Reed and Robinson are too one-dimensional.

The more I look at our options the less I like them, honestly.

I wouldn't mind any front 4 pick. You can never have enough good defensive lineman...and we've got one consistency in Jordan.

yep. a dominant line does wonders for LB's and DB's. games are won and lost on the LOS.

Does anyone think with Fairley we go A'Shawn now?

With Kikaha moving to DE you now have a DL of:
Jordan
Fairley
Jenkins
Kikaha

Jenkins hasn't shown the ability to be able to play a whole game consistently. It may work perfect to have Robinson and Jenkins splitting time at the NT spot. And then you can run more 3 man fronts so that Fairley can get a breather too.

I remember reading that the saints liked Robinson.

I would like ashawn. You might as well edge your bet especially since you're playing a 4-3

I don't like Treadwell at 12 because we have bigger needs but if it was between him and Robinson I would take Treadwell. I would much rather rankins or spence there

I would hope signing Fairley would not alter a draft strategy a single iota.

Go look at each others production the past few years

Dodd doesn't come close and 1 game doesn't change that.

Not at #12 overall.

Some scouts have him in the 2nd round now and others have him as late 1st at best. Had a bad showing at the combine and struggled during interviews to the point where he supposedly scared away some teams that were interested in him.

Go look at his roto page. Def looks like he's sliding to the back end of the 1st at best.

If DeForest Buckner falls to maybe 10 would you guys be against trading up a couple of spots to get him?

Add Rankins and Lawson and I'd be happy with any of those 4.

Is Fairley good enough to alter our draft strategy? I'd think not. Most mocks I've seen have us taking Rankins.
