Please no BS sympathy for him, he sux. Sick of his tenure hear- not a speed back/not a power back (insert 4th and 1 failures here)/not a feature back... There's a reason we don't screen to him like we did with PThomas/Bush/Sproles.

Sorry, this is the first year we haven't had a stable and I'm tired of him as a feature back.

Is that how we've used him this year?

What makes this year different from last year?

There's a reason we don't screen to him like we did with PThomas/Bush/Sproles.

And there is a reason they weren't used every down. BTW:
quote:

In 12 games, Ingram saw 57 targets, catching 50 for 405 yards. That was good enough for eighth among running backs in catches and 10th in yards, despite only playing three quarters of the season.

/not a power back (insert 4th and 1 failures here)/

quote:

his 59.4 elusive rating was seventh in the NFL among qualifying backs, and his 2.9 yards after contact per attempt was the fifth-highest mark in the league.

Found the problem, sorry he played at Bama

Yep. Pretty much nail on the head.

Alfred Blue should be on the team and not Ingram

We should trade Ingram for Hill! I mean hill went to lsu still in the league.

BTW for all of you "we should have gotten hill", he's playing like shite

Im really tired. Tired of ill thought out MI bashing threads.
He's not a dynamic RB. He's solid(which you can't say for many RB's) in all phases of a RB's role. Has a good YPC avg.
He's trust worthy. Again a needed trait.
I too would like a burner with some wiggle that can block, pass catch and never screw up the game plan. Once again they don't grow on trees.
I tell you what. You go on record and pick one for the draft and see how you do. No first round picks.

If you want to be tired of something be tired of the lack of emphasis in the rushing game. Out of 32 teams
we are 31st in rushing attempts. The only team close to
this is Jacksonville. Our longest rush from scrimmage is 17yds. BTW That was by Ingram. No team is even close to that. Let that sink in. That is pathetic. With a poor defense no hint of trying to establish a run game you will only get so far. Sorry this is coaching and game prep and planning. It's not on Ingram. He hasn't carried the ball enough to be criticized.

Alright Devil's advocate,
Yea, feature back is when one player has 70 carries vs 14 for next closest, as is the case with Ingram. Last year we spread the wealth Ingram/Hightower/Spiller 166/96/56, sure leaning to Ingram, but much more balanced with a stable vs Ingram alone.
Didn't say he couldn't catch, but indeed we don't screen to him like we've done to othe RBs in past. 18 catches for 118 yards and 4 drops isn't exactly killing it. He is basically the throw down 3rd/4th option in a short pass offense, so sure he'll have receptions- that doesn't lead to big plays because he's not a playmaker.
He lacks vision, ability to hit hole, break away speed, and power. He's averaging 3.9 ypc this year which is mid-pack mediocre- not what I want
Did I mention Bama you TWAT? Give me Lacy and I'd gladly switch, I'd roll the dice on Henry, but awesome assumption assclown. Sick of paying this guy $4 mill per year average and getting nothing.

The only thing I didn't address was his elusive elusive rating, good info man! But find me a staple of 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 films with his conversions... We don't even try him on 4th anymore. 6 years he's been here.

The easiest way to tell if a Saints fan knows absolutely nothing about the team or the sport is to ask them what they think of Mark Ingram. If it is negative I don't bother listening to anything they have to say.

When was the last time he broke one for a huge gain?

How old are you? Saints fan for a decade or life? I imagine a decade so let's not say we can judge a fan by Mark Ingram, my lord the stupidity.

Now how did we "spread the wealth" before Ingram's injury?

18 catches for 118 yards and 4 drops isn't exactly killing it.

What are you even talking about?

He is basically the throw down 3rd/4th option in a short pass offense, so sure he'll have receptions-

Do you even watch the Saints?

He's averaging 3.9 ypc this year which is mid-pack mediocre- not what I want

Nothing to do with the injuries to our oline so far. What did he average last year?

quote:

Did I mention Bama you TWAT? Give me Lacy and I'd gladly switch,

So you're just an idiot

quote:

Sick of paying this guy $4 mill per year average and getting nothing.

Mark Ingram is on an EXTREMELY team friendly contract.

Keep them coming

quote:

But find me a staple of 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 films with his conversions...

He converted 33% of his touches into first downs or touchdowns last season....

Valid point, but I think it's not hard to see this type of back doesn't meld with this offense. Proved nothing in 1st 4 years then we resign him for 4 more- all because I a contract year he was 36 yards shy of 1,000...
Behind a pass blocking line you need an elusive speed back that can catch and find the hole in a RB draw- not this "Powerback" who cannot hit a hole.

Our offense sets Ingram up for failure. I can basically call it before every play when Mark Ingram is going to run, imagine what a good MLB can do...

AND despite setting him up for failure he succeeds. I will leave this here.

LINK

At a 4.5 he's plenty fast for an NFL running back. Claiming he lacks power is a laughable argument

This is about the only thing you said that I can agree with. We need that type of back to compliment Ingram. Those types of backs are not every down type of backs so I fail to see why you would not want a guy like Ingram in the picture. We have clearly failed to replace Sproles/Bush role.
