Before Sean Payton either leaves or is fired? Next year isn't looking too promising for us. How much goodwill does he have built up?

ETA: what about Loomis?

I would rather stick with Payton and give him time to restart the thing if he wants it. Who else are you going to get to come here? He has done it once. Maybe he can do it again?

Statue of Benson holding the Lombardi says all you need to know. Dome is still sold out, waiting list, Champions Square is lucrative. Regardless of record Payton will be here for a long long time unless he somehow chooses to leave. Benson, Loomis and the Saints organization will be milking that Super Bowl season to the very last drop.

Lol its been one bad season dude.

This is the attitude that keeps teams in the trash, same thing with wanting to fire Ryan. You don't toss good people out after one bad year.

1 season removed from an 11 win season and you want to can the HC & GM for a bad year. Why not wait to see if they have a bad year in 2015 & 2016 before contemplating gutting the entire team and getting rid of the only HC that has had any sort of sustained success in the team's history.

Why not? We haven't even gotten to free agency or the draft yet. A bit premature to say that, don't you think?

Not even past the first round of the playoffs , let alone Free Agency. And the draft. Lol.

Lets take it a week at a time. There have already been steps taken to hopefully improve this team.

Well if we had canned Payton after back to back 7 and 8 win seasons we would have never won the Super Bowl the next year.

We also kept Haslett through a bunch of mediocre season before Katrina did him in.

So as long as we aren't completely fricking sucking and have some good/great years mixed in he should stay.

We've never had less than 7 wins with him as coach.

Pre-Payton we would of considered a 7 win season a success. Because quite frankly we didn't even see many of those. Alot of fans seem to be taken what he did for this organization for granted. He's given us no reason to let him go

Considering Ryan's track record, at least that makes some sense. Already talking about Payton leaving makes zero sense.

You again.

Well, there's a few coaches that are superbowl winners with off years. Some took a year to rebuild their team. Some took just a few years. Some are still rebuilding. Not every coach/team can be BB/Pats.

Tom Coughlin
Mike Tomlin
John Harbaugh

are three superbowl winning teams in the past decade that have had off years after their titles. You overreact way too much.

We have 3 7-9 seasons out of the past 8 years. Also, 4 seasons with 10 or more wins. I'd say next year is still up in the air. But CSP and Loomis really fricked up by releasing Sproles, Greer, and Jenkins.

Yeah, they really fricked up releasing Greer, the player who was so injured he had to retire.

And Jenkins was awful here. Horrible angles and bad tackling. Sproles was getting old and didn't justify his salary. We messed up not adding another quick back and instead thought Cadet could fill the role.

The coaches trusted Lester.

Was always going to be a below average FS for us. Even with the best pass rush we've had in the past decade, he couldn't do what FS was supposed to do: cause turnovers

Sproles

I'd actually have agreed here, but I'm pretty sure even with Sproles this team wouldn't have been all that much better. The OL needed a retook/overhaul badly.

I agree, why would you think next year doesn't look promising. We have an opportunity to draft a real playmaker at 13 and we had a ton of injuries this past season. Shore up the offensive line and there's no reason to think we can't gets back to the playoffs. Some folks need to relax.

And guess what? Those players arent much better off then we are.

Greers retired abd Jenkins and sproles missed the playoffs as well. Sure Jenkins had a few picks, but phillys defense is still pretty bad. Sproles hurts in the short term but he's going to fall off pretty soon. Not many 30 year old RBs out there
