How in the hell can you already say next year isn't promising?

We were literally probably 10 plays away from a 10-11 win season.

Idiots ignore facts because it doesn't help their arguments.

Are you ignoring the fact that we were a few plays from being 4-12?

Many were picking the Saints to represent the NFC in the SB. Instead we went 7-9 and couldn't win a division that had no winning teams. I don't see how anyone can just write this off as a bad season. This was a gigantic fail

I'm not ignoring that at all... But we were FAR closer to being 10-6/11-5 than we were to being 4-12.

If it weren't for late game meltdowns against the Lions, 49ers, and Falcons we are easily 10-6.

It's the NFL, shite happens.

Also known as a bad season...

Falcons, Browns, Detroit, and SF should have all been wins. We were a different team in that half of the season before the injuries piled up and the team fell apart.

Being reasonable about what happened this season isn't ignoring the team's problems. I understand that simple concepts are hard for your small brain to grasp though.

Would 7-9 be better if the ATL and CAR had winning records? I don't get the logic. 7-9 is 7-9

This:

We had the worst defense in the league. We are in an atrocious salary cap bind. Our front office doesn't have a greatest draft track record. We've only got so many years of a HOF qb playing near his peak

I tried telling this board and the MSB that and was just called a homer.

It is far more manageable than last year.

you want to cut out half of the best qb/coach duo there is? so you've given up on Brees as well? what would this team look like with no SP and Brees working with another coach? I for one would not want to find out.

I would say that too if I was the GM responsible for what most people think is the worst cap situation in the league

It's not Loomis' opinion dude, the underlying statistics behind his claim are public and easily verifiable.

Before Sean Payton either leaves or is fired?

Don't see any reason why Payton would leave, and why would we let him go? When you look back at the history of this franchise, we have mostly had bad coaching hires, so now we would want to dump the one who got us a SB win? Do we have anyone who is guaranteed to get this team a contender again? I would rather Payton have the chance to revamp the team, before someone else. Every year more & more coaches are misses in the NFL- it is far from an exact science.
