They are also losing starters but nobody is talking about that.
That's because we have replaced the lost players with upgrades at most positions...

Eric Decker, enter Emmanuel Sanders (downgrade). Knowshon Moreno, enter _________ (question mark). Shaun Phillips, enter DeMarcus Ware (upgrade). Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, enter Aquib Talib (even). Mike Brown, enter TJ ward (upgrade). Also, Ryan Clady, Von Miller, Derek Wolfe, Chris Harris, and Rahim Moore return from season ending injuries. We were missing a lot of players in the Super Bowl.

I never said whether what they got were upgrades or downgrades, just that y'all have lost 2 full time starters without replacing them, and still have 3 starters and a returner that are FAs. That's a lot of holes.

So while it seems Denver is only adding they way people are talking, they have actually lost more than they've gained to this point.

Talib is very good but i'm not sure at almost 10 mil a year(though i get it)

Ware will be good but not what he was

Sanders isn't the blanket that decker is imo(but he wasn't worth 10mil to begin with tbh)

Ward is a good run defender from what i heard but how is he in coverage?

The problem I saw with you guys entering the SB was you really didn't have the run component necessary to beat Seattle.

I think Moreno and co. brought a good run game, but they committed the sin of giving up on it early like we did in the first game.

You say this....

quote:

Eric Decker, enter Emmanuel Sanders (downgrade). Knowshon Moreno, enter _________ (question mark). Shaun Phillips, enter DeMarcus Ware (upgrade). Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, enter Aquib Talib (even). Mike Brown, enter TJ ward (upgrade

And then say only 2/5 are upgrades

I'm still not sold on or rushing game. Knowshon Moreno might come back since he isn't getting much attention. We could have him back cheap.

Shaun Phillips' season wasn't near as good as it seemed.

I don't know how 28 tackles, 10 sacks, 5 passes defensed, 1 interception, and 2 forced fumbles in 12 starts(16 games) is a not good season compared to 28 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 passes defensed, 1 interception, and 0 forced fumbles in 13 starts(13 games).

I'd definitely prefer the first.

Nobody said an injured Demarcus Ware had a better season than Shaun Phillips last year.

You were the one claiming Ware is an upgrade, and I'm simply providing the stats.

Ware may never be the player he once was after battling injuries(and playing through them minus 3 games) for 5 straight years.

Or maybe it was just the scheme change/move to defensive end in a 4-3. We'll find out.

All I'm saying is to me it looked like Phillips had a fine season, and definitely better than Ware's. I got to see him play at least 5 games + the playoffs and he looked good about every time.

A healthy Demarcus Ware is an upgrade over Shaun Phillips. I'm trying to find the tweet, but Shaun Phillips' season wasn't near as good as it seemed.

According to Pro Football Focus, Broncos DE/OLB Shaun Phillips only disrupted the quarterback on 47-of-443 pass rush snaps during the regular season. That's a sack, hit, or hurry on just 10.6 percent of his pass rush attempts. Despite posting ten sacks, Phillips' disruption rate ranks him No. 62 among all players who rushed the quarterback at least 250 times. He'll have his hands full on Sunday against the elusive Russell Wilson.

I stand by my statement. He will not equal Phillips season. If you think Phillips had an average season then ware will be below average. Dude is breaking down hard.
