62 out of how many, and where did Ware finish?

assuming everyone uses at least a 4 man rush, that's 128 players, so throw in guys that blitzed a lot and Phillips is definitely in the top 1/2-1/3.

So again, doesn't seem bad to me. I don't think anyone said he had an outstanding season.

He had one bad season in which he missed 3 games and played the majority of others injured. That's why his production was down. He will have a whole offseason to get healthy and will benefit from other teams trying to double team Von Miller. He will be fine, IMO.

I'm not arguing who's going to be better, just saying don't try to downplay Phillips' solid season to make Ware seem like a definitive upgrade. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't.

If we retain these pieces we will be a defensive powerhouse past Drew's years.

That's reaching, you can't say that. 2 years ago we had the worst defense ever.

Rosters, in the NFL, change drastically year to year. We all thought the Saints had a Patriots like run in them, following the Super Bowl win.
