A lot of people, including myself, forget how valuable this guy was to our offense earlier in the season. He did a great job of catching balls out the backfield and definitely had a nose for the endzone. Also, for those who say we need a power back if Bell gets let go, Evans can get those tough yards on 3rd and short...probably better than Bell or Pierre can.

I don't remember if he ever lined up as a single back with the Saints this year, but he would occasionally do so with the Pats. Especially next to Brady in the shotgun. Always seemed to be falling forward and make 2nd and 3rd efforts.

Anyways, I look forward to having him back next year healthy.

Hope he will return to the player he was early in the season. I would just like us to pick up another quality FB in FA. Any good ones out there to consider picking up?

That TD catch and run against the Eagles IMO ranks second behind Meacham's strip as toughest TD of the season.

Dude was a beast in the 6 games he played. Here's to a healthy 2010

Yes sir. Our backfield situation is fine even if we lose one of our four RB.

Although he showed he can do other things, his blocking was missed the most.

I like Evans also, but he is 31, and coming off an ACL injury from October. It still takes around a year to year and half to fully come back from an ACL tear.

Hope he is healthy come game time, but anything we get out of him I will consider a bonus

Have to disagree with you on that one. He is going to be 95-100% at trainging camp.
I've witnessed active 40-50 year old people come back in a little over a year. Running races.

yep, these guys have the best of the best in rehab medicine. unless they are like Brady and get an infection, they can come back relatively quickly.

dude.....not QUITE the same....

But I hear you.....Cadillac was the most recent to come back and be productive from an even more devastating knee injury than just an ACL (which I have suffered through myself).

I did read on and between the lines....my point was to politely say that to somehow use middle aged successful ACL recoveries (resulting in getting back into doing 10K's) to support your point is ludicrous when you compare it to what an NFL RB's body must be able to endure.

I'm looking forward to getting Evans back. As far as Mike Bell goes, I must have missed something. How did he lose his position? Did he end up in Paytons doghouse? Or did Reggie just outplay him late in the season?

for a full time HB yes...I do not think Heath's duties will require that amount of time though...
