If they had not called PI on Boldin earlier in the game, I think it is a bullshite call.
However, the refs had already thrown OPI in the game, and it would be almost favoritism to not call it on the play, regardless if it was a hail mary.

Yeah, defender took a huge dive, but with Graham extending his arms (bad timing if you don't want to believe he was pushing off even a tiny bit) combined with refs needing to stay consistent, it had to be called.

STFU, they made one call on Boldin....then they allowed him to push off for the rest of the fricking game! It was a bullshite call

It was replacement refs. The NFL came out and said it should have been called.

The league provided information stating that Lance Easley had four years of officiating experience, none above the Division III level. That revelation comes after the league said Seattle's last-second touchdown pass should not have been overturned but conceded that Seahawks receiver Golden Tate should have been called for offensive pass interference before the catch.

Mike Pereira agrees with the call and explains why..."

I'd like to know what Pereira thinks about the no-call, holding penalty committed on Gallette-during the 4th down, heave for 51 yds?

Ok. So we have established the league sucks with these calls. So I maintain my position that this was a bad call.

There was a no call in favor of San Fran. Bolden had a far more obvious PI on his TD and there was no call, so there is that.

I do not see Graham with a push off. I see him putting his hands on the CB while looking for the ball. It is a very much allowed action for a WR in any situation. He kept his hands on him as the CB flopped which caused Grahams to extend, not fully, but there was absolutely no force applied. There was nothing Graham did to cause 1) seperation 2) for the DB to fall to the ground.

I can understand how the refs got fooled, but there is a reason why they have historically swallowed their whistle in the situations. They were fooled by the flop which changed the outcome of the game.

No he did not. A push is applied force. Graham did no such thing.

In fact if you look at the clip and just focus on the DB I think the DB fell because he appeared to hurt himself.

I've watched this over and over. I don't see the push. It looks like he just touches him.

This just proves that forty whiners or sore losers. They have to cheat their way to victory. We won that game after looking at the gif, I am pissed Graham barely touched him. Its because he threw his hands up and acted as if Jimmy shoved him to the ground.

The first time I saw it I thought it was blatant OPI. But when I saw it again it was obviously the wrong call. Seeing that gif confirms it. I don't know how anyone can look at that light fingertip hand check + flop and not see that.

If he didn't extend his arms, he would have been fine. I agree it's kind of a flop, that being said you can't extend your arms like that while going for a catch.

How many times has a Hail Mary looked like a mugging in the end zone with no call whatsoever? bullshite.

"Officer, everyone else is speeding..."

Look, I understand, how many teams have been called on that weird arse penalty that cost the Patriots against the Jets last year? I didn't bitch that much because, technically, they were correct to call it. It sucks/frustrating/annoying, but in today's NFL you just can't assume consistency.

This is why every penalty...EVERY penalty should be reviewed. I don't care if its a false start, holding, or a obvious BS/rule-defining OPI. You review every damn call to make the right one. And I know it will never happen, and if it does, it will make a 3 hour game longer. But this happens way too often in all sports. Remove the human error element as much as you can.

Except he didn't push off. He hand checked him. The amount of force applied by graham would barely budge my 86 year old grandmother.

Do you not understand leverage/balance? Just as the defender went to make a play on the ball , by jumping in the air ,he was pushed off balance..

Doesn't take much to knock over someone running & attempting to leap off one feet at the same time.

Right call.

It doesn't look like in the gif I posted that the defender was trying to jump. Looked like he slipped or just fell. Was he hurt in the endzone after that call?
