He has completely drowned this team with poor drafting and free agency. When you consistently have undrafted FA beating out your drafted players, it doesn't mean you've found a diamond in the rough. It means you whiffed on draft picks.

He at least has to clean house with his good ole boys assistants like Johnson, Vitt and McMahon to keep his job.

Those 3 assistants probably have too much dirt on payton for him to fire. For all we know, He's probably running an underground sex slave operation underneath the superdome.

If Sean loses his job and ends up opening a Jimmy John's, Joe Vitt will be at the register.

I just really don't see who we could get to come coach this team. Ownership uncertainty, no talent, and most dead money in the league...

Why would anyone want to be a head coach here?

It's not so much Sean Payton the coach, it's more of an indictment on Sean Payton the talent evaluator.

Who ever evaluates talent needs to find another job. If that is Payton then he needs to leave.

Agreed

Bad defense, aging QB, fan base who just went through the best decade in team history, fricked up ownership situation... We won't be in any good coach's top five

Getting rid of bad apples in the locker room, banning video at training camp, openly screaming at the DC and eventually firing him, scouting staff shakeup, changing training camp sites, etc etc etc...

So many scapegoats from Payton, Loomis and their group of bros the past few years.

Who gets blamed next?

I think it's obvious that we got very lucky with Payton. Every year people grab coordinators and they fall flat.

But I guess the organization is at a better place than we were when we hired Payton.
