But he saw it. You can see him looking at it in the background of one of the videos. He even reached for his flag.

YET YOU KNOW MORE THAN A EX NFL GM??

What ex-NFL GM are you referring to? You mean the guy that was a former Saints GM? Yea, I'm sure he is a beacon of rational thought in a time like this.

1. Post the transcript from the interview. I'd like to see exactly what he said, because I have a feeling you heard what you wanted to hear and are misrepresenting what he said.

2. If he actually said what you are describing, then he has no idea how officiating mechanics work. The referee isn't supposed to be watching for PI. Could he have called a conference and asked the other two officials to discuss what they saw? Sure. Could he have called a conference and thrown a flag on his own? Nope.

Look, it's clear that you are wayyyyy too emotionally invested to think about this clearly, but what some of you are suggesting is for officials to completely disregard officiating mechanics because two officials missed a call.

I said it in another thread, what yall are asking is akin to asking the first base umpire to call balls and strikes. It doesn't work that way.

He is the lead ref, so yea some of the blame will/should fall at this feet; however, I can't really blame him. He trusted the men working on his crew. They got it wrong. They huddled, the said it was tipped or bang-bang play, or whatever and he backed his crew. No one can blame him for believing they saw what they claimed to have seen. Now hindsight, he should be livid.

I'm guessing your vagina came into play. You didn't say anything bc you didn't want to get your teeth knocked into the pacific ocean.

Too bad he didn't. We'd be talking about the SB right now.

Nope, never will. That Vikings game was on us. This game was stolen.

" WE WILL NEVER RECOVER"

i know exactly what he means

he knows as a player how fricking hard is is to have the shots we had in 2011 and 2017 where we fricked up

he also knows how hard it is to get a 1 seed. after all our self inflcited screw ups we finally get it 9 years after our last 1 seed. then we are not even allowed to determine our fate. the refs did. The emotional and menatl scarring from these horrific events is hard to muster. that is what he means. we most probably will never get that close again.

you never assume anything. no guarantees, no tomorrow. that is what made 2011 and 2017 so painful.

but this year blows those out the water.
