That being true, no one moved him an inch off the line.

The more I read or watch video of him I love the pick. This could be a steal will have to check back in about 3 years but he still can contribute right away I believe.

Great find and great pick. The kid sheds double teams like nothing and changes directions in the blink of an eye. I hope he can do the same in the NFL.

I actually like this pick the more I think about it. When they had him labeled as a DT I wasn't as thrilled. But hearing they plan on using him at DE in base packages and then likely kicking him inside on passing downs is on point. Kikaha isn't an every down guy and this guy will protect him on first downs.

Zero reason to trade up to pick him. No one was taking him. Doesn't mean he won't be able to play. Just idiotic to make that trade and move up for a guy that you could take later.

It's not like we are drafting a player like Jack, who already has the talent, just may be delayed due to injury. But for a team like the Saints that has a lot of needs/holes, we don't have time for a player to 'possibly' develop. I will say it again- DUMB move by the Saints front office when you still have quality OG's available!!

Random fact: Green Bay called Onyemata's agent to say they were taking him in a few picks. Saints traded up to snag him instead.

Agent likely tipped us off and say hey if you want him come get him.

But still, folks can talk about him taking on double team blocks, but it's not like he is playing against Bama or Ohio St. like teams on a weekly basis.
I guess we can re-address this pick in the next couple of years, but I still say he is a reach...

Green Bay has had pretty damn good success drafting. I like that as well. I guess maybe we had developed best relationship with him... Or maybe he's tired of being cold.

I mean you kind of figured that if we jumped up to snag a relative unknown they knew someone else coveted him

He's a high risk high reward project with outstanding measurables at a position of need. All evidence points to him having a great motor, possessing unimpeachable character, and being a very intelligent player to boot. While raw, he has all of the skills you can't teach paired with what seems like a very teachable character.

I am very optimistic about this pick.

When Sean Peyton was being interviewed on NFL Network during the draft, he mentioned that he had a call from On-ya-mama's agent and that the agent was someone he trusts. That statement stuck out to me as odd.

He said the agent was someone he works with, not trusts. Though if he works with him trust can be inferred.

After hearing that I have no doubts the agent tipped him off after the call from GB.

I think we need to stop calling this guy a DT. Sounds like he'll be playing DE by all accounts.
