Cap gurus is this a bad idea?

Because all I'm seeing is an elite running game if we had these two guys as our backs.

30 year old runningback with a shite ton of mileage? What could possibly go wrong?

Ingram looked very good up until getting injured.

And you want to cut him and Spiller in favor of two 30 year old backs?

I would love Forte on this team. He could come in and revamp our screen game that was so good with Pierre. Realistically though we aren't getting him

I dont know about cap space, but cutting Ingram for Forte/Hightower is fricking retarded.

Ingram gets way to much hate on this board and it's bullshite.

I apologize to the board God's and will do my due diligence towards researching and educating myself on the cap before making a bad thread. My bad.

I really like Matt Forte though, and he's a perfect fit for this offense if he can stay healthy. And Hightower may have been injured a lot but he doesn't have any mileage on his legs.

Of course not much of that matters if they're both old and our cap gets screwed by cutting ingram and spiller.

Long shot I know...but Forte has Louisiana ties and may feel he would make a good fit in CSP offense. What do you think would be the max saints would give him if he was interested in playing in Nola?

As for Hightower, I would like the saints to sign him to the practice squad and bring him in as fresh legs say around week 12 or so.

Even if you were to suspend the Cap I wouldn't do it.

I'd take Forte over Ingram all things equal. However financially, this would make no sense.

Hightower is not lasting 5 minutes on the practice squad.

Nothing wrong with Ingram either. Its a shame half the fanbase is too pissy about the school he went to.

I wouldn't take Forte over Ingram at this point in theirs careers. Ingram is entering his prime.

How old is Hightower again? What stats did he have that were better than Ingram's again?

Hightower isn't eligible for the practice squad.

The Forte of 2015 (pre-injury) is better than anything we've ever had with Ingram.

Now, maybe that injury with age has changed the equation. But, if not, Forte is clearly the better player...and he's a perfect fit for this offense because he can do it all.
