If Greer could come back healthy, man that would really solve some problems.

so we say no to a 29 year old RB who was on a bad team, but not a 36 year old CB who played in 5 games last year?

Got it.

How convenient you left out the part where I said Bailey DID fall into the same category, and Pat responding he was surprised to see the Saints kicking the tires.

You, sir, are a true Champ.

I gotcha. Still Pat did admit his surprise and didn't try to say he didn't say what he said.

Me on the other hand, I don't like to rule people out unless they are just bad players. Size, age, and injury history(unless it was recent and very serious) are background factors compared to production(leaning to the recent).

You really wanna go there? You have perhaps the most famous talking out of your arse quotes on TD.

If they sign Bailey, then I was wrong, plain and simple.

Right. No big deal. We've all been wrong.

Hell I forget who it was(goatmilker?) had a thread where we were admitting them.

He's old, no doubt...but he's an all-time great, and they tend to be effective a little bit longer...He was great in 2012 at 34 or 35....little risk, possible big reward, imo.

He was hurt all year, graded very green against NE in the first playoff game, then was bad against Seattle....however, most Denver players did poorly against Seattle.

...if you look at the Saints players against the Rams, most of them graded poorly in the arse-whooping, but that's not necessarily a fair reflection on their overall game.

For example, Akiem Hicks graded negatively (-1.5) against the run in St. Louis....However, he was the #13 overall 3-4 DE against the run for the season.

That's my other issue with PFF. We rarely even played ANY 3-4. We played more 4-3 and way more 4-2-5.

So the same people grading the film can't even see that we don't use a 3-4 base.

Hicks actually played mostly DT over the RG.

That isn't really how the website works.

He would have been rated as the #9 4-3 DT

I wouldn't hate this unless we think he can still start.

Okay. I don't have a subscription so I just look at the stuff posted here.

So that's even better than his 3-4 DE ranking.

Wasn't Darren Sharper 34 when we signed him and he ended up leading our defense to a super bowl win

He would be a GREAT pick up if the Saints could get him for the Vet minimum or there abouts.

I wouldn't hate it. He'd be a great presence in the locker room, wouldn't asked to do more than he could, and would be a great mentor to our young guys.
