He was never coming here. Ever. There was literally no reason to reach out. Y'all need to drop this shite.

The Saints overdid the "we are only going to sign guys w/ no character flaws or potential character flaws" philosophy. Period. And it cost them a potential starter at guard from Day One, all-pro type olineman.

Y'know, the type that can protect your franchise QB that you've invested the farm in, from injury.

Stupid stance to take. Publicly anyway. You look silly when you end up with a serial rapist on the team that seemed like a good citizen.

I recall at the time, it was made public that he wanted to leave the state. Maybe through his agent.

Think about it.. He never left BR when he came to college and had this murder case haunting him. Makes sense.

To not take an hour drive to BR to find out exactly what was going on explains the saints franchise in a nutshell.

The Saints deserve to be 0-2.

It is pure insanity to be talking about La'el Collins at this point. It's over and some people need to move on.

However, if the Saints were indeed the only team to not even make an inquiry about Collins, well then that just solidifies the stance that Payton seems to have against LSU players. Maybe he just knows something we don't about how the program is run, but one thing is certain:

LSU puts quality talent into the NFL

Maybe the Saints thought it was very divaesque, entitled, and immature to have your agent come out and tell teams when to draft you...maybe that rubbed the franchise the wrong way especially considering who and why some players were let go this offseason.

Considering the franchise's recent draft history, maybe they should concern themselves less with "diva-like" behavior and more about guys who are good a playing football.

but I really do not want to be reminded of this kid once a week for the next 10-13 years

Until we get one mediocre guard on this team I think we should all be reminded about the ineptitude of our FO (includes SP) to not address a glaring weakness on this team for a great price this off season. We had the worst OG combination in the league last year and this year we are actually worse! But taking a back up OT at 13 was genius, thank God we don't have a 5'11, 36 year old QB that isn't mobile and needs a pocket to step up in.....

This topic has never been discussed before

He chose an income tax free location loike an intelligent person should at a place where he can protect himself from injury in year 1

Still no idea why 0 teams were unwilling to take a late round risk for a 1st round talent
