18-1, I'm all for it.

I have faith.

Just bitching now hoping they can shore up the defense. Luckily we don't play the Packers 16 times a year.

I agree with OP...just looked at our schedule and we should be 9-1 or 8-2 before our game in Atlanta.

who are the better defenses we will see this year.

i definitely cannot name one.minny is good but not better than GB. indy?meh, not better than GB. Bears? maybe the closest to GB we will face. GB and the bears are probably the best D's we will face all year.

TISA, I don't think we'll play a better D, but we'll have worse matchups. An above average cover 2 will stifle Sean Payton and Drew will get impatient

The play calling was horrible...why the frick did Jimmy Graham not get more opportunities

Defense...I told you a couple of weeks ago...we're average AT BEST on D. We are horrible at the basic fundamentals of football.

But yes, from here on out, we are poised for a good year. SP needs to get his head out of his arse. Throwing away timeouts and after 3 quarters of good short yardage playcalling he decides to go back to 2008 SP and call the worst plays possible in crucial moments

i'd put the Falcons in the same boat as the Packers, especially considering teams can't just double down on Roddy White anymore...

it doesn't really matter if we play a "better" D than the Pack or not... the 3-4 gives Drew fits as evidenced by last year vs. the Browns and Cardinals... and this...

this is our biggest problem....

and i won't get into having a "good" year... we are past settling for "good" years in New Orleans.... we should expect to be competing for Super Bowls, and since the Texans game, i haven't seen the type of overall team that gives me any inclination that we have progressed enough to be considered a serious contender this season...

d wins championships. we cannot let teams keep scoring 40 plus in big games. real simple. we need to become dominant and get 3 and outs instead of relying on TO's.

matt ryan isnt within a million tiers of aaron rodgers.

Rodgers is clearly one of the elite QB's in the league, but if you think Matt Ryan is not in the top realm of QBs in the league, pretty much everyone else on earth would disagree.... Both have very high football IQ's, great supporting casts, and strong running games to rely on.... the only difference going into this season is that the Falcons OL is not nearly as good as the Pack...

michael turner and ryan grant are a was

not they are not... Turner is much, much more productive and a true #1 RB... Grant shouldn't be the starter in GB...

packers have a better RB corps.

agreed, but because of the loss of Norwood in Atlanta....

finley is far better than gonzalez

no shot.... you just lost credibility as far as i'm concerned....

julio jones is better than who exactly?

if you notice, i never made any claim as to how good Jones will be or currently is... i am saying that having another quality WR prevent teams from just concentrating, as they have in the past, solely on Roddy White... TBH, Harry Douglas is the guy you will really, really have to watch when playing the Falcons this season... he will benefit from having White and Jones occupying each a corner, while he gets a favorable matchup vs. a safety or nickel CB....

so you're saying neither team has a shot?

Its a new NFL...Good Qbs and timely defense wins championships.

no thanks, youre an idiot, thus you will be treated like an idiot

there is a very clear distinction between tier 1 and tier 2 QB's. rodgers is tier 1, ryan is tier 2. they are not close

gonzales had 656 yards in 16 games last season. finley had 301 in 5 games last season. finley >>>>>>> gonzalez

Back to the OP

I'd like to see our team stop burning through time out's early.

I'd really like to see Ingram, or whomever running the ball, stop running right up the arse of our linemen/blockers.

I'd also like to see Rogers or any DT show up.

Raji had too big of a game as well, for as beast as our Guards are we had a heck of a time blocking him and also picking up 3rd/4th and short yardage.

yeah, he had a hell of a time tonight

he had good stats tonight, as far as passing yards and TDs go... i'll give him that... but you'd have to admit he was under duress all night.... there were a couple of balls early on that could have been picked off had the CB been able to locate the ball earlier... his stats, to be fair, were inflated 1.) because we abandoned the running game due to getting down early and not having the luxury of remaining balanced offensively 2.) not being balanced, we aired it out more often than not to try to come back 3.) once they went up by 15 late in the 3rd, they really backed off in coverage and started rushing with only 3 or 4 guys, blitzing very little... Drew's biggest asset is his accuracy on the short and intermediate routes, so if he has enough time to scan the field he can take with the defense is allowing him, and in this case, they were giving him a lot...

that's not to say that he didn't do a good job, but his stats wouldn't have been what they were if we wouldn't have gotten down so much so early, the game would have been closer, or the Packers would have stayed in man coverage the entire game...
