This team will have an interesting off season. For one thing, one way or the other, they're going to have more cap space than what we've been thinking. EG, Reke and/or Ryno, individually or in some combination will be gone, imo.

trading one of our PGs for more balance. or both of them

Highly doubt jrue goes anywhere

Tyreke certainly could if he keeps playing at a high level

EG will be moved either way

Idk man EG has been a marksman from 3 this year a skill that neither Jrue nor Tyreke has

Im starting to believe we should keep Jrue, Reke, and EG while Ryno being the odd man out

Need another superstar. Go out and grab Durant.

Ideally Anderson and Evans get moved for a legit 3 plus cap space. Bring back Cole/Ajinca/Asik. I'd personally rather keep Gordon over Evans as I just feel he's much better at playing complimentary basketball. Take the ball out of Evans' hands and he's next to useless. I really like the guy and think he's tough as nails, but his defense drives me mad. I don't think he's a championship level player unless he's willing to give more on both ends.

Not being a dick here but I'm so tired of people saying trade Ryno for a SF. Ok...who? Ryno is far from untouchable but people forget how good he was for us. Defense will always be a problem, sure. But if you're throwing this idea around, who are the targets?

Dumping Ryno for cap space may be necessary to keep some of the complimentary pieces/open up room to sign a SF. There are many ways to wiggle around the room; but we don't have much, and I value retaining some of the other pieces over Ryno. Again, I would have liked to have seen some outside the box thinking from Monty using him, but it's Monty. We've seen Dell crafting a roster around Monty this year, and it's starting to work. I don't think Anderson can do what Monty is asking him to do. Ditto with Evans.

Need to find a true 2nd banana. Holiday, Asik, Gordon, Evans, Anderson are all 3rd, 4th, or 5th best guys on a title team. Davis can carry them, but the playoffs are brutal and limitations will be exposed. They need a second difference maker.

The defense needs to be fixed. More scheme than players to me. It's better since Jan 1, but still around 20th. That's not good enough if you want to play into late May/June. And I'm really curious to see the offense in a playoff series. I'm not sure it will get good looks consistently enough when the screws tighten.

Pelicans are playing their best basketball in quite some time, look to be really jelling as a team, and some of you guys are giving everyone pink slips

fricking this.

Jrue and Anderson should be the ones were looking to move if anyone. But for fricks sake we've built a bench and we are definitely moving forward with a young team, lots to be excited about

Middleton
Snell
Batum
Maclemore? (Not sure how he's been playing)
Wilson Chandler
Deng
MKG (I know he can't shoot)
KJ Mcdaniels?

Aminu

Not sure how we would go about getting some of these guys, just throwing out names

My short list for SF is:

PJ Tucker (he is just a defensive animal with some attitude)
DeMarre Carroll
Harrison Barnes

I doubt there is any trade realistic to get Barnes but he'd be perfect here. Tucker and Carroll are more realistic. The most ideal and realistic move we can make imo is to somehow turn Ryno into Tucker/Carroll and Brandon Bass (idk how we would do it) but

Jrue/Cole
EG/Reke
Carroll/QPon
AD/Bass
Asik/Ajinca

With Cunningham, Babbitt, Withey, whoever else would be awesome

Love all three of those. Throw Crowder in there as well.

first step is making the playoffs, then winning a series, then another series.. so on and so forth

none of those guys put us over the top and make us a contender, unless AD goes bonkers and we start playing great defense, GREAT defense. EG would need to keep shooting like he is and we would need to stay somewhat healthy, which we haven't done in years. Can't keep having 20 million dollars on the bench the majority of the season.

To be a title contender, we would need to offload two of Tyreke/EG/Ryno and get a legit all star back, that can score and help close games out with AD, while keeping everyone else. I doubt we can get a legit all star for two of those three.
If the Thunder really might trade Durant, then we should give them whatever they want to try to get him. anythign but AD. I could care less if we gave away our next 3 first rounders for him.
Somehow getting Kawhi to sign and Spurs not match, or do a sign and trade with him would be a huge step in the right direction. or Jimmy Butler in a similar situation.

I know we are playing well right now, and Tyreke has been looking good, assuming Jrue comes back at some time, when they were in the game together, they made each other worse. One of them has to go imo.

The only other way to remedy that is have tyreke coming off the bench and limit the amount of time he and Holiday spend on the floor together. I think it could work, but I agree one of them will have to go in order to land a big fish that can put us over the top.

see on the contrary I believe all we are missing is a little more defense, veteran leadership, and shooting which is what Carroll, Tucker, and Bass bring

I 100% believe that we can win with EG, Jrue, and Reke because they all do key things better than the other...Out of the 3, EG is the best shooter (and any championship team will tell you you need shooters, shooters, shooters), Jrue is the best game manager and PG, and while Reke can play PG its not his natural position, he is best at getting to the rim (almost at will) and he is also the most versatile of the 3

I believe when EG's contract is up he will resign here for a lot less than what we are currently paying him...I'd say around $8-10 mil which will obviously save some cap
