I'm still not convinced that the roster is a playoff roster.

If we finish the season on a low note I could see him being done. It certainly doesn't help Monty and his staff that you see far less talented but well coached teams doing well...

My question is does Dell go if Monty goes? I know you can't pin all the blame on Dell for stuff like the EG debacle but we might have the most expensive back court in the league behind Brooklyn and Los Angles.

I think they are very much separate, especially if the plan is to bring in Karl who has said he loves the roster. What are people excited about on this team? AD, Ryno, Tyresus and Holiday. Dump Gordon and add another piece and what is there really to complain about? Become a playoff level team again and you can attract the Carl Landrys and Jarrett Jacks to give the bench the boost it needs.

I think they are, and should be separate, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar situation to Munchak from the Titans (I realize Munchak was a coach, and Dell is the GM). Then again, Monty was hired before Dell, so Dell wasn't the one to hire Monty.

Demps is in no position to walk. He's not some high profile Gm here. He's still early in his career and it would make no sense for him to walk away from a position that he's still probably considered inexperienced in.

Demps has done a nice job unloading bad contracts (Oak, Ariza) and acquired some nice talent (Ryan, Jrue, Tyreke). Unfortunately, EG came into his life.

What about Doug Collins? Is he done coaching? Idk if he'd be my choice, but I just haven't seen his name come up for discussion.

Considering all reports are he quit in Philly and then Jrue started playing poorly, I don't think he's someone you consider.

I'd be in favor of Doug Collins too I think he has some gas left in the tank.

In no way, shape, or form. is Doug Collins the answer.I like Monty, but if Tom Thibedoux was the coach this year, does anyone think the Pelicans miss the playoffs?

Thibedoux is going to be looking to get out of Chicago, if he's available I get rid of Monty, otherwise, I keep Monty for another year.

Dell is a top 10 GM in my opinion. I wouldn't underestimate his bargaining power with keeping Monty.

That's the 2nd time I've heard this mentioned, is this the last year of his deal?

I'm not sure. As much as I've given up on Monty, I think there is a lot of truth to those saying the team is just too young. Thibodeaux may be over achieving with lesser talent, but it's mostly veteran lesser talent.

Why would he leave?

I don't know if him leaving is a real possibility, but I know he's been upset with some of the moves their Front Office made (trading Deng, firing his assistant, Ron Adams).
