He can confuse me for you as much as he wants.

Here's Seth Partnow on parsing Synergy numbers from mid February.

He even mentions Evans and his abysmal performance in transition. (To be fair, it did tick up slightly- he finished at .94 PPP).

quote:

A final takeaway from this brief look is the importance of getting easy buckets in transition. It’s cliche, but it’s also demonstrably true that scoring against a set defense is simply harder as indicated by the huge gap in expectations between half court and transition plays and supports and reinforces the notion that the shot clock can be a powerful defensive weapon.

It also means that perhaps a little bit of wildness can be excused and in fact encouraged. As an extreme example, relatively speaking, Tyreke Evans has been terrible in transition this season. His .91 points per transition chance is well below the league average of 1.1, while he turns the ball over almost 50% more often (17.6% of his transition plays are turnovers vs. an average of just over 12% leaguewide). He is in the 19th percentile of all players with sufficient transition opportunities. BUT, this .91 points per possession is still better than a league average half court possession. So even as poorly as his frequent fast break flurries have been, his ability to get into transition situations arguably helps the Pellies offense.

While the Pels scored well grinding it out, the hope is that they can squeeze more out of the offense. If Evans can turn ISOs (.80 PPP) or PnR Ball Handler (.80 PPP) possessions into transition opportunities, even reckless ones, that will help. And, like I said earlier, he is probably the best transition ball handler they have.

Very doubtful this team makes it out of the first round.

Not a knock. Next year isn't our year. It's all pointing towards the 2016-2017 season.

Tyreke had his great rookie year when the kings were 7th in pace.

We should be the 7-seed barring significant injury to us or another team. We should be around 49 wins. I think the team will be in a great position moving forward after the upcoming season, but I'm not certain we will do too much better in the short term considering the improvements the other teams out west made

1) San Antonio
2) Golden State
3) OKC
4) LA Clippers
5) Houston
6) Memphis
7) NO
8) Utah
