Expect 48-50 wins, 7 seed and a first round exit.

Hope for a second round exit and a sit down with KD.

Sorry but Dawson will be a beast in this league who gives a shite if he was underrated and a second round pick.

And when he's not will you be around to eat crow?

I guess you're not on the same fan level as me. No wonder everything you say is baseless... it comes out of a mouth that doesn't watch the team play.

Defensive improvement for sure.

Yup. IMO, largely why Monty had to go.

What are the expectations this year? by PrimeTime Money

What is the realistic goal for the team to reach?
To be nitpicky, there are 2 different things.

I expect a 7th ish seed, getting into the playoffs a bit more comfortably this season, possibly leap frogging POR and DAL, but somewhere in that mix.

But a goal, sure we can set the goal at winning a playoff series, gotta dream big.

To me the 6 seed and a competitive first Rd series is fair
That would be a very satisfying season for me.

2nd Round should be the expectation
You expect to finish ahead of beat 1 of GS/SAS/HOU/LAC/OKC in the playoffs?

tell me, how did you watch the un-televised games over the past 10 years, of which there were many?

Also, I'm fine with Gentry and i hope he does well. But to call him a massive upgrade is a reach. The guy has 3 winning seasons in 12 years as a head coach. I'd rather consider him a lateral move until he proves otherwise...

I'm frankly not nearly as excited about Gentry as I am Darren Erman. However, I am going to massively enjoy the positive attitude that Gentry brings to this team, and his pedigree after winning it all last year as an AHC. Got tired of seeing our guys treat playing like a business. Show me some damn fire. It's entertainment after all. Have some damn fun. It's infectious to the fans as well.

Don't forget Memphis. They are still hanging around and are a nightmare match up for lots of teams. Thats it though. Only 6 teams that are clearly a step ahead of the Pelicans. If they aren't at least the 7th seed, then something went horribly wrong. I could even see a bit higher, cause somebody, on another team, is getting hurt..

I want 50 plus wins and second round. That's realistic given the trajectory of this team, despite the ridiculous amounts of injuries we've had.

The criticism of how this team is constructed is literally baffling to me. We have not had our second best player healthy since he arrived.

Does anyone think Golden State wins without klay?

You think the Spurs lose to the Clippers if Blake is out?

Now I'm not saying that Jrue is as good as those guys because he isn't. But what he can do and how he plays is paramount to our success. It wasn't a coincidence that we played better when he's on the court. Hell listen to Joel Meyers, he freakin loves Jrue because he knows how good Jrue can be if given the opportunities.

I just really hope that he's healthy this year. I want him to succeed and kick other pg's asses.

Realistic or not, I want a ton of wins in the regular season. I am okay if we do not get out of the 1st round. I think 55+ wins would do wonders for fan support. If we can add a legit all star next season to play alongside AD the following year, we would be poised for a serious run.

My expectations-
AD- Adds 5-8lbs of muscle, corner 3 , and go to post move. Officially becomes most dominant player in league. Jordan comparisons begin. Leads league in scoring and blocks. Wins MVP.

Gordon- reports in best shape in 4 years mentally and physically. continues discovering the player he is and drops 40% from 3pt range again with 50 more attempts. Deadly... Continues to play very solid team defense.

Ryno- reports in best shape of career mentally and physically. Flourishes in offense and improves as defender with his improved stamina.

Jrue- finally recovers from this injury and runs the show as we still protect him at 28 min per game average. Great season defensively, offensively, and is running the team effectively in all important moments.

Qpon, Reke, Asik, Ajinca, Cole - all flourish in more specialist and defined roles.

Summary- with the MVP on our team and a few other key players playing at their peak seasons of their career in peak age range, we finish #5 in the West. Strong chance at first round win vs. clippers or rockets. Lose in 2nd round in game 6 or 7.
