So then the Association righted its own wrong. They controld the trade and botched it? This is all new information to me btw, I do appreciate it.

No sir, I do not have any "actual factual information."

I would prefer to just eat his 1 year than trade him for space and fill that space with reserves. I would rather have space next offseason when the cap jumps again rather than to add $10M or less in salary right now.

If we let Tyreke expire without extending a QO, but offer one to Jrue, we'll have $71,541,879 in contracts and Jrue's $16,929,777 QO.

That's $88,471,656. That' gives you about $15M in space for next year. If you are able to dump Tyreke now, maybe you can chase a guy like Brandon Bass on a short-term deal.

Tyreke will be unrestricted so there is no QO to extend. His cap hold should be about $14-15m...we would just need to renounce his rights.

I would not want to take any one on for more than 1 year. I think gambling on Tyreke getting at least healthy enough to play and produce enough to generate trade interest is better than getting someone like Bass on a 1 year contract.

I get MM saying he is a complete negative because he doesn't fit the system, but rather let him try with the bench unit and hope he produces enough to trade. In all hoinesty the downside risk is if he refuses to buy in and negatively affects play, you just bench him.

Getting rid of Reke would have allowed us to overpay a promising player on a 1 year deal. Someone like Andrew Nicholson would have probably preferred 1yr/$10m over the 4 year, $28m deal he signed. Ditto Sullinger, who got 1 year, $6m.

Tyreke could have been traded for McRoberts but pels decided not to. The reason Tyreke has not been traded has less to do with on court issues and more about the business side. Just what I heard may be true maybe not. Also they think he may not play till later in the season. But hearing from Reke's people and looking at his snap he seems ready. He's training and not rehabbing.

That's what I don't get ppl are saying he's hurt and out until January but Tyreke himself is doing and saying everything to the contrary

I don't know about that $18M guaranteed is a lot of money to leave on the table for someone who has only made $6M on his career. If he gets injured or bombs, he could lose a lot of money.

There is a reason Sullinger only got 1 yr/$6M. I do not think he would ever have been a target.

Yep. I am sure the public won't get all the facts for months, and people will hold out hope for the best. But it ain't good. I am going the opposite way and simply assuming he isn't playing at all next year, and that if they can get anything form him- be it games or in a trade, that's gravy

wouldn't surprise me considering the QPON stories were really "optimistic" early on.

but then again wolvereke shows up every so often

Pondexter was progressing through the normal rehab steps and when he got to the very end they realized it wasn't right so he needed new surgery. What we have here is a claim in advance of a long recovery time. Tyreke had surgery in early February, that puts August at 6 months. MM is claiming he won't play this year.

What knee injury takes 10+ months to recover from? Some quick googling of meniscus tears and even microfracture surgery put recovery time in the 4-6 month range. Either MM's sources are wrong, this is like QPon and we'll hear about another surgery soon, or this is some serious Brandon Roy shite.

They're probably the same sources, but on the most recent BSS podcast, Schwann said that he was hearing the same thing about Reke as Crewz.

MM is definitely overreacting. If Reke missed another season it will either be due to a new surgery or his career is over. I know he wasn't rehabbing like was supposed too, but if he needed another surgery he would have gotten it a month ago. All I hear is that he may not play until Dec.

He posted a video today of him playing ball in Spain. It wasn't fast paced or hard or anything but he was moving. If he's seriously injured I doubt he's putting any pressure on the knee at all or he's not at all taking rehab seriously.

Neither would surprise me though.

I seen that, he has also been training not rehabbing. He's been doing a lot of exercise that put a lot of pressure on his knee. He had a risky type of surgery which may be why MM is so pessimistic.
